privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles'
feet. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to
lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the
land? 4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was
sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this
thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5
And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the
ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 6
And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out,
and buried him. 7 And it was about the space of three hours after,
when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 8 And Peter
answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much?
And she said, Yea, for so much. 9 Then Peter said unto her,
How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of
the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband
are at the door, and shall carry thee out. 10 Then fell she down
straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young
men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried
her by her husband. 11 And great fear came upon all the church,
and upon as many as heard these things.
1 Pero cierto hombre llamado Ananías, con Safira su mujer,

subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience
sake. 6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they
are God's ministers, attending continually upon this

no en vano lleva la espada, pues es servidor de Dios,
vengador para castigar al que hace lo malo. 5 Por lo
cual es necesario estarle sujetos, no solamente por
razón del castigo, sino también por causa de la
conciencia. 6 Pues por esto pagáis también los
tributos, porque son servidores de Dios que atienden
continuamente a esto mismo. 7 Pagad a todos lo que

the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and
they will kill me, but they will save thee alive. 13 Say, I pray thee,
thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and

when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman
that she was very fair. 15 The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and
commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into
Pharaoh's house. 16 And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and
he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and
maidservants, and she asses, and camels. 17 And the LORD plagued
Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's
wife. 18 And Pharaoh called Abram and said, What is this that thou
hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy
wife? 19 Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken
her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go
thy way. 20 And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and
they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.

Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she
is a man's wife. 4 But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, LORD,
wilt thou slay also a righteous nation? 5 Said he not unto me, She is my
sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of
my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this. 6 And God said unto
him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for
I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to
touch her. 7 Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he
shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou
that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine. 8 Therefore Abimelech
rose early in the morning, and called all his servants, and told all these things in
their ears: and the men were sore afraid. 9 Then Abimelech called Abraham,
and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee,
that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done
deeds unto me that ought not to be done. 10 And Abimelech said unto
Abraham, What sawest thou, that thou hast done this thing? 11 And Abraham
said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will
slay me for my wife's sake. 12 And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the
daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my
wife. 13 And it came to pass, when God caused me to wander from my
father's house, that I said unto her, This is thy kindness which thou shalt
shew unto me; at every place whither we shall come, say of me, He is my
brother.
1 De allí partió Abraham a la tierra del Neguev, y acampó entre Cades y Shur,
y habitó como forastero en Gerar. 2 Y dijo Abraham de Sara su mujer: Es mi
hermana. Y Abimelec rey de Gerar envió y tomó a Sara. 3 Pero Dios vino a
Abimelec en sueños de noche, y le dijo: He aquí, muerto eres, a causa de la

había llegado a ella, y dijo: Señor, ¿matarás también al inocente? 5 ¿No me

en sueños: Yo también sé que con integridad de tu corazón has hecho esto; y
yo también te detuve de pecar contra mí, y así no te permití que la tocases. 7
Ahora, pues, devuelve la mujer a su marido; porque es profeta, y orará por ti, y
vivirás. Y si no la devolvieres, sabe que de cierto morirás tú, y todos los tuyos.

Abraham respondió: Porque dije para mí: Ciertamente no hay temor de Dios

sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: 4 Let a little
water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest
yourselves under the tree: 5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and
comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are
ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said. 6
And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make
ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes
upon the hearth. 7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf
tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to
dress it. 8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had
dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree,
and they did eat. 9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife?
And he said, Behold, in the tent. 10 And he said, I will certainly
return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife
shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was
behind him. 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken
in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. 12
Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed
old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
18 Después le apareció Jehová en el encinar de Mamre, estando él
sentado a la puerta de su tienda en el calor del día. 2 Y alzó sus

poco de agua, y lavad vuestros pies; y recostaos debajo de un
árbol, 5 y traeré un bocado de pan, y sustentad vuestro corazón, y
después pasaréis; pues por eso habéis pasado cerca de vuestro

sierva egipcia, al cabo de diez años que había
habitado Abram en la tierra de Canaán, y la dio
por mujer a Abram su marido.
4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived:
and when she saw that she had conceived, her
mistress was despised in her eyes.
5 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be
upon thee: I have given my maid into thy
bosom; and when she saw that she had
conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD
judge between me and thee.
4 Y él se llegó a Agar, la cual concibió; y cuando
vio que había concebido, miraba con desprecio a
su señora.
6 But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid
is in thine hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee.
And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled
from her face.
5 Entonces Sarai dijo a Abram: Mi afrenta sea
sobre ti; yo te di mi sierva por mujer, y viéndose
encinta, me mira con desprecio; juzgue Jehová
entre tú y yo.
6 Y respondió Abram a Sarai: He aquí, tu
sierva está en tu mano; haz con ella lo que bien
te parezca. Y como Sarai la afligía, ella huyó de
su presencia.

5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac
was born unto him. 6 And Sarah said, God hath made me to
laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. 7 And she said,
Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have
given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age. 8
And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a
great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned. 9 And Sarah
saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto
Abraham, mocking. 10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham,
Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this
bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
11 And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight
because of his son. 12 And God said unto Abraham, Let it
not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because
of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee,
hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
13 And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a
nation, because he is thy seed. 14 And Abraham rose up
early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water,
and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the
child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered
in the wilderness of Beersheba.
5 Y era Abraham de cien años cuando nació Isaac su hijo. 6
Entonces dijo Sara: Dios me ha hecho reír, y cualquiera que
lo oyere, se reirá conmigo. 7 Y añadió: ¿Quién dijera a
Abraham que Sara habría de dar de mamar a hijos? Pues le
he dado un hijo en su vejez. 8 Y creció el niño, y fue
destetado; e hizo Abraham gran banquete el día que fue
destetado Isaac. 9 Y vio Sara que el hijo de Agar la egipcia,
el cual ésta le había dado a luz a Abraham, se burlaba de su
hijo Isaac. 10 Por tanto, dijo a Abraham: Echa a esta
sierva y a su hijo, porque el hijo de esta sierva no ha de
heredar con Isaac mi hijo. 11 Este dicho pareció grave
en gran manera a Abraham a causa de su hijo. 12
Entonces dijo Dios a Abraham: No te parezca grave a
causa del muchacho y de tu sierva; en todo lo que te
dijere Sara, oye su voz, porque en Isaac te será llamada
descendencia. 13 Y también del hijo de la sierva haré
una nación, porque es tu descendiente. 14 Entonces
Abraham se levantó muy de mañana, y tomó pan, y un
odre de agua, y lo dio a Agar, poniéndolo sobre su
hombro, y le entregó el muchacho, y la despidió. Y ella
salió y anduvo errante por el desierto de Beerseba.
