Life Long Faith Focus on the Gospel
Matthew 18:15-17
Jesus acknowledges the presence of sin within the community of believers and provides a path for
bringing members back into the fold. Only when all else
fails is the sinner to be excluded from the community. This
Gospel makes it clear how important community is for
Christian believers. Each individual member of the
community is important and necessary. No one can be
spared. We need each other. Jesus reminds us to pray
with us and for us, to call us to task when we go astray.
There is something special about this shared prayer: even
where just two or three are gathered, Jesus is in our midst.
Even the smallest community is a privileged place of grace.
Please join us in prayer! This year we will pray this
Novena for our Catechists from September 10-18:
God, our Heavenly Father, you have
given us the gift of these catechists to be
heralds of the Gospel to our parish family.
We lift them up to you in thanksgiving
and intercede for them concerning their
hopes and needs.
May we be attentive to the presence
of your Word in them, a Word that lifts up
and affirms, calls forth and challenges, is
compassionate and consoles.
We pray that our parish family will always
be blessed with those who have responded to
the call to share in Christ’s prophetic mission
as catechists. May we too be open to the
universal call to service that Christ addresses
to all of his disciples, contributing our gifts to
the communion of faith, the Church.
We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

A STEWARDSHIP MOMENT...
In Saint Paul’s letter to the Romans he suggests that God lavishes his love upon us through Jesus Christ, who calls us to
the kind of loving relationship, if we so choose it, that demands
accountability.

Paul’s
vocabulary, a kind of “debt” that we can never “pay-in-full.”
But we begin to repay by following the direction of one of the
most familiar statements in the Bible:
“Love your
neighbor as yourself.” Good stewards realize that God does
not call them just to love those who are easy to love, but to
love the unloved and the hard-to-love people in this world as
well. This week, remind yourself: “I am put here as an ambassador of God’s love.”

Farmers Branch, invites you to join
them every second Friday for dinner
and fellowship. Friday, September 12, dinner will be served

each Friday dinner the Knights will be collecting

Journey of Hope: Follow the Peace
The more you open yourself up to God, the
more He, through the Holy Spirit, will guide
your heart. The Holy Spirit is your advocate,
your guide, in daily living. The more you work to center
your life on Christ and doing God's will, the more sensitized to a feeling of peace you will become. Let that feeling
of peace, or the lack of it, be your guide. As a
general rule, when you are doing God's will you will find
peace. If you are not, peace will be fleeting or non-existent.
While it is true that God leads you through difficult times to
form you and strengthen your faith, through prayer and
reflection you will come to know if the struggle is leading
you closer or further away from God. Follow the peace.

donate are those from fast food restaurants. We could also
use larger toys. Donation boxes are in the church (near the
office) during the month of September.
La Loteria game—We are also collecting items for prizes for
a bingo game that is played primarily by adults! The prizes
are new/used inexpensive household times, such as home
decorations, kitchen towels, and picture frames. It is a great
chance to clean out your closets or “re-gift” something that

En la carta de San Pablo a los Romanos, él indica que
Dios prodiga su amor sobre nosotros a través de
Jesucristo, quien nos llama a un sentido de relación
amorosa, si nosotros así lo elegimos, que nos demanda
responsabilidad. Esto, en el vocabulario de San Pablo, es
como una especie de “deuda” que nosotros nunca
podremos “pagar en su totalidad.” Sin embargo nosotros
empezamos a pagar siguiendo la guía de una de las
declaraciones más familiares en la Biblia: “Ama a tu
prójimo como a ti mismo.” Los buenos corresponsables
están conscientes de que Dios no les llama a amar sólo a
quienes es fácil, sino a amar a los no amados y también a
la gente a quien es difícil amar en este mundo. Esta
semana, recuerde: “Fui puesto aquí como embajador del

en agradecimiento e intercedemos por sus intenciones
y necesidades. Concédenos estar atentos a la presencia
de tu Palabra en ellos, Palabra que eleva y afirma,
llama y desafía, es compasiva y da consuelo.
Oramos para que nuestra parroquia siempre sea
bendecida con aquellos que responden al llamado de
compartir la misión profética de Jesucristo como
catequistas. Concédenos a nosotros también estar
abiertos al llamado universal que Cristo hace a todos sus
discípulos, contribuyendo nuestros regalos a la
comunidad de creyentes, la Iglesia.
