November’s Clip focuses on
what the Somerton School
District does to hire and retain
quality teachers for the students
of our District.
From the time we hire a new
teacher a plan is set in place to
develop and retain that staff
member. The plan is this----1.Induction program that balances
out what a new teacher needs to be
successful in the beginning the
school year to the time spent in the
classroom getting ready before
school begins.
2.New teachers are assigned to a
grade level chair which
immediately brings a sense of
belonging.
3.In addition new teachers have
access to site coaches that help
them out from the beginning of the
school year, until the end of the
school year.

maestro es contratado se pone un
plan en marcha para desarrollar y

District mentor coach who can
help them with anything from
classroom management to
instructional strategies.

5. There are regularly scheduled
meetings throughout the school
year for new teachers where they
can network and share with other
new teachers about their
experiences in the classroom.
