indicating that you had no unlawful knowledge of the questions or answers prior to the test and that you have
neither given nor received assistance in answering any of the questions during the test. Your answer sheet
cannot be accepted if you fail to sign this declaration.
The use of any communications device is strictly prohibited when taking this examination. If you use any
communications device, no matter how briefly, your examination will be invalidated and no score will be
calculated for you.

Part 4
Directions (31-33): Choose two of the three writing tasks provided below. Your answer to each of the two
questions you have chosen should be written entirely in Spanish and should contain a minimum of 50
words. Your answers must be written in your own words; no credit will be given for a response that is
copied substantially the same as the material from other parts of this examination. Names of places and
brand names written in Spanish count as one word. Contractions are also counted as one word.
Salutations and closings as well as commonly used abbreviations are included in the word count.
Numbers, unless written as words, and names of people are not counted as words. Be sure that you have
satisfied the purpose of the task. The sentence structure and/or expression used should be connected
logically and demonstrate a wide range of vocabulary with minimal repetition. [10]
31. Your family will be hosting an exchange student from Ecuador this summer. Write a letter to the
exchange student describing your family in Spanish. You may wish to include:
