ANGEL TREE
Following our tradition of many years, CISS has the honor of offering a Christmas celebration, held
here at school, to benefit the children from My Father’s House, Mensajeros de la Paz and our CISS
maintenance staff. Members of the CISS Parent Committee will visit the institutions and make a list of each
child’s “Christmas wish”. Lists with the sizes of clothing and other needs that the children have are being
compiled. Each of these items will be written on a separate "angel card" and placed on the school Christmas
tree. We invite all CISS families to participate in this activity by sponsoring one or more "angels". If you would
like for your child to participate, please fill out the permission slip sent home on Friday, November 13, and
return it to your child’s teacher by this Friday, November 20. On Friday, your child will accompany his/her
class to select an angel card from the tree. Items such as clothing, toiletries, underwear, reasonably priced
gifts, or gift certificates (for older children) will be listed on the card as the “angel’s wish". Please help us in
making this child's Christmas wish come true by purchasing the gift that appears on the card. If your gift
requires batteries, please be sure to include them. The gift should be wrapped WITH THE ANGEL CARD
ATTACHED and sent to school by Friday, December 4. On Saturday, December 12, the Christmas party will be
held at 9:00 a.m. in the gym area. At this time your gifts will be given to your “angel” by Santa. All CISS
teachers, students, and their families are invited to join us in sharing the season's love and cheer with these
children.
ARBOL DE ANGELES
Siguiendo con nuestra tradición de muchos años, el CISS ofrecerá una celebración navideña a los
niños de la Casa de mi Padre, Mensajeros de la Paz y a los hijos del personal de mantenimiento del colegio,
la cual se llevará a cabo en el colegio. Los miembros del Comité de Padres de Familia del CISS visitaran las
instituciones para hacer una lista del deseo navideño de cada niño. Luego se elaboran las listas con las
tallas de la ropa y otras necesidades que tienen los niños. Cada uno de estos artículos será escrito en una
"tarjeta de ángel" por separado y se colocará en el árbol de navidad del CISS. Si usted desea que su
hijo/a participe, por favor, complete el formulario enviado el día viernes, 13 de noviembre (uno por
alumno) y envíelo a la maestra encargada de la clase a más tardar el viernes, 20 de noviembre. Su
hijo/a acompañara a su clase para seleccionar una tarjeta de ángel del árbol navideño del CISS este
viernes, 20 de noviembre. Los artículos como: ropa, artículos de tocador, ropa interior, un regalo de precio
razonable o certificado de regalo (para niños mayores) se incluirá en la tarjeta como el "deseo del
angelito". Por favor, ayúdenos a que el deseo de navidad de estos niños se haga realidad, donando el
regalo que aparece en la tarjetita. Si el regalo para su angelito requiere baterías, por favor asegúrese de
incluirlas. El regalo deberá ser enviado con envoltura y CON LA TARJETA DEL ANGELITO ADJUNTA a más
tardar el viernes 04 de diciembre. La fiesta navideña para los niños se realizará en el gimnasio del CISS, el
día sábado 12 de diciembre a las 9:00a.m y Santa les entregará los regalos que ustedes donarán a los
niños. Todos los profesores, estudiantes y las familias del CISS están invitados a unirse a la celebración
para compartir un poco de alegría y de amor con los niños.
THANKSGIVING
Many of our families celebrate Thanksgiving; therefore there will be no classes on November 26 and
27. On Wednesday, November 25 CISS students will commemorate Thanksgiving Day by having a special
celebration on during their lunch time and the period after lunch. Students may wear traditional blue jeans
and a yellow, white, orange, brown or Thanksgiving motif shirt.
DIA DE ACCIÓN DE GRACIAS
Debido a que muchas de las familias del CISS celebran el Día de Acción de Gracias, por lo que no habrá
clases los días 26 y 27 de noviembre. El día miércoles 25 de noviembre los estudiantes conmemoraran el Día
de Acción de Gracias con una celebración especial durante la hora de su almuerzo y el periodo lectivo
siguiente. Los estudiantes pueden vestir con jeans tradicionales y una camisa amarilla, blanca, anaranjada,
café o que tenga un motivo del Día de Acción de Gracias.
DECEMBER NEWS
HOLIDAY CLASS PARTIES
Students in grades K- 12 will celebrate the holiday season during their class parties on Friday, December
18. There will be lots of fun activities, holiday goodies, and maybe even a visit from Old St. Nick himself!
All students will be dismissed at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 18. This is the last day of classes for all
students before the holidays. Classes resume on Tuesday, January 5, 2016.
FIESTAS DE LA TEMPORADA
Los estudiantes de Kinder - 12 celebrarán la época navideña el día viernes 18 de diciembre. Habrá
muchas actividades divertidas, golosinas e incluso podríamos contar con la visita de San Nicolás en
persona. Todos los estudiantes saldrán a las 10:00a.m. y será el último día de clases. Las clases se
reanudarán el martes 05 de enero de 2016.

We realize that CISS is made up of families from many different backgrounds and cultures. If for any
reason you DO NOT want your child to participate in Christmas activities, please let his/her teachers know.

SEMESTER EXAMS
The students from 7th grade to 12th grade will have their exams for the first semester during the week of
January 11, 2016.
