His Royal Highness Crown Prince Nugzar of Georgia becomes one of the Patrons of The
International Commission and Association of Nobility (TICAN)

Following the announcement this morning from Tbilisi that His Royal Highness Prince Nugzar of
Georgia is to become one of the Royal Patron of TICAN. We are all delighted to welcome our new
Patron just before New Year.

HRH Crown Prince Nugzar Bagrationi-Gruzinski is the rightful lineal successor of the last kings of
united Georgia, the rightful successor of the last kings of the kingdom of Kartli-Kakheti, and the
senior descendant by primogeniture in the male line of Giorgi XII. In 2006, the former head of the
Imereti Royal House, HRH Princess Nino Bagration-Imeretinski (1915-2008), signed an important

memorandum where she, on behalf of the Imereti royal branch, recognized the rightful claim and
sovereignty of the Bagrationi-Gruzinski family over the rest of the Bagrationi lines.
HRH Crown Prince Nugzar Bagrationi-Gruzinski is married to Princess Leila Kipiani, who was born
in Tbilisi on 16 July of 1947. They married on 10 February of 1971. The Crown Prince and Princess
have two daughters: HRH Princess Anna of Georgia (born 1976) and Princess Maia (born 1978).
Princess Leila descends from one of the western high noble families of Georgia.
ON THE ORIGINS OF THE GREAT ROYAL FAMILY OF BAGRATIONI- GRUZINSKI
The history of the Bagrationi Royal family is organically connected with the Georgian people for
centuries. The Bagrationi Royal Dynasty, which headed the Georgian state for more than a thousand
years, rightly occupies a place of honor amongst Christian dynasties. Over the millennia,
representatives of the Bagrationi Royal dynasty made significant contributions to the country’s
military, political evolution, and cultural development. The dissolution of the unified Georgian
kingdom led to the establishment of the Kartli, Kakheti, and Imereti Royal branches of the House.
According to the 1801 manifest of Russian Emperor Alexander I, the Bagrationi Royal rule of the
Kartli-Kakheti kingdom was illegally abolished, and Georgia was declared to be a Russian province.
Despite the illegal military overthrow, the Bagrationi Royal family continued to make significant
contributions to Georgia and the greater Russian Empire in the military, scientific, artistic, literary,
and other spheres. Within the Russian Empire, children of the Kartli-Kakheti (Georgian) kings Erekle
II and Giorgi XII had official titles of “Georgian Princes and Princesses”.
In Russia, the honorary style for these Royals was “the Most Respectful”. In 1804 and 1812, the
Russian government decided that only the sons of Georgian (Kartli, Kakheti) kings were permitted to
enjoy this title. These descendants enjoyed the title of “Georgian prince” (Gruzinski). In 1833, the
Russian government adopted an additional decision regarding which grandsons of Erekle II and
Giorgi XII were granted the title of “Georgian prince” (Gruzinski), and this title eventually became
their surname. The representatives of all other branches of the Bagrationi family had only a title of
prince, which was below the title of Georgian prince. Examples of other families that only had the title
of prince are Bagration-Mukhranski, Bagration-Davitashvili, and Bagration-Babadishi.

HRH Crown Prince Leka II of the Albanian
He was born, on the 26th March 1982, in Johannesburg in South
Africa, of the union of King Leka I of the Albanians and Queen Susan.
His grand-parents were King Zog I and Queen Geraldine.
The young Prince has followed his studies in the St Peter's College of
Johannesburg. The Royal Family of Albania has definitely returned in
their country on the 28th June 2002.
In 2004, the Prince has undergone a military training at the Military
"Scanderbeg" Academy in Tirana and, in 2005, was admitted, like his
father, at the famous British military Academy. At the end of his
courses at the British army, Prince Leka II was graduated as an officer.
It was "the best foreign student of the Military Academy in Sandhurst".
Back in Albania, the Prince has completed his formation in economic studies and has followed a
special course in Italian language at the oldest and most prestigious Italian institution, the "Università
per Stranieri di Perugia". In the meantime, he did also study law by correspondence. He speaks
several foreign languages.
On August 18, 2007, Prince Leka II became adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and since July
2009, he is adviser to the Minister of the Interior.
The prince is particularly active in the field of education of the Youth (He obtains special grants for
students at the "Royal University of Iliria - Universiteti Mbretëror Iliria" in Prishtina, Kosovo.

SAR il principe ereditario Nugzar Bagrationi-Gruzinski è il successore legittimo degli ultimi re di
Georgia Unita, il legittimo successore degli ultimi re del regno di Kartli-Kakheti, e il discendente più
anziano di primogenitura in linea maschile di Giorgi XII. Nel 2006, l'ex capo della Imereti Casa Reale,
SAR la Principessa Nino Bagration-Imeretinski (1915-2008), ha firmato un memorandum importante
dove, a nome del ramo reale Imereti, ha riconosciuto la legittima pretesa e la sovranità della famiglia
Bagrationi-Gruzinski sul resto delle linee Bagrationi.

La storia della famiglia reale Bagrationi è organicamente collegato con il popolo georgiano per secoli .
Ia dinasta reale Bagrationi dinastia, che diresse lo Stato georgiano per più di mille anni, occupa
giustamente un posto d'onore tra le dinastie cristiane. Nel corso dei millenni, i rappresentanti della
dinastia reale Bagrationi hanno fatto significativi contributi militare del paese, evoluzione politica, e
lo sviluppo culturale . La dissoluzione del regno georgiano unificato ha portato alla creazione di rami
di Kartli, Kakheti e Imereti.
Secondo il manifesto nel 1801 dell´Imperatore russo Alessandro I, la regola Bagrationi Reale del
regno Kartli – Kakhetifu abolita illegalmente, e la Georgia è stata dichiarata una provincia russa .
Nonostante il rovesciamento militare illegale, la famiglia reale Bagrationi ha continuato a dare
contributi significativi alla Georgia e il maggiore impero russo in campo militare, scientifiche,
artistiche, letterarie e in altre sfere. All'interno dell'Impero russo, i figli delle Kartli - Kakheti (
Georgia) re Erekle II e Giorgi XII aveva il titolo ufficiale di " Principi e Principesse georgiani”.
In Russia, lo stile onorario per questi reali era "Il Più Rispettoso". Nel 1804 e 1812, il governo russo
ha deciso che solo i figli di re Georgia (Kartli, Kakheti) sono stati autorizzati a godere di questo titolo.
Questi discendenti apprezzato il titolo di "principe georgiano" (Gruzinski). Nel 1833, il governo russo
ha adottato una decisione supplementare per quanto riguarda le quali nipoti di Erekle II e Giorgi XII
fu concesso il titolo di "principe georgiano" (Gruzinski), e questo titolo divenne il loro cognome. I
rappresentanti di tutti gli altri rami della famiglia Bagrationi aveva solo il titolo di principe, che era
sotto il titolo di principe georgiano. Esempi di altre famiglie che avevano solo il titolo di principe sono
Bagration-Mukhranski, Bagration-Davitashvili, e Bagration-Babadishi.
"Non posso pensare a nessun maggiore conferma di TICAN che per me essere in grado di accogliere
Sua Altezza Reale il principe ereditario Nugzar come uno dei Reali Patroni. Come un vero principe
non regnante farà una grande differenza per unire e onorare nella sua adesione quelle persone che
rappresentano la nobiltà contemporanea che rimane latente ma nascosto nell'ombra ed assistere la
nostra promozione della Monarchia come la forma più stabile di governo.
La formula "per grazia di Dio" è un richiamo costante al sovrano che un incidente di nascita era
responsabile per la sua posizione e deve dimostrare la sua idoneità con sforzi incessanti per la causa
della giustizia.

Sua Altezza Reale il Principe Leka II degli Albanesi
Nato, il 26 marzo 1982 a Johannesburg in Sud Africa, dell'unione del re
Leka I degli Albanesi e della regina Susan. I suoi nonni erano il re Zog I
e la regina Geraldine.
Il giovane principe ha seguito i suoi studi nel Collegio di S. Pietro di
Johannesburg. La Famiglia Reale dei Albania ha definitivamente
tornato nel loro paese il 28 giugno 2002.
Nel 2004, il principe ha subito un addestramento militare presso il
Military "Scanderbeg" Accademia di Tirana e, nel 2005, è stato
ammesso, come suo padre, presso la famosa British Academy militare.
Alla fine dei suoi corsi presso l'esercito britannico, il principe Leka II si
è laureato come ufficiale. E´ 'stato "il miglior studente straniero dell'Accademia Militare di
Sandhurst".
Tornato in Albania, il principe ha completato la sua formazione negli studi economici e ha seguito un
corso speciale di lingua italiana presso la più antica e prestigiosa istituzione italiana, la "Università
per Stranieri di Perugia". Nel frattempo, ha anche studiato legge per corrispondenza. Parla diverse
lingue straniere.
Il 18 agosto del 2007, il Principe Leka II divenne consigliere del Ministro degli Affari Esteri e dal
luglio 2009 è consigliere del ministro degli Interni.
Il principe è particolarmente attiva nel campo dell'educazione dei giovani (Egli ottiene borse di studio
speciali per studenti della "Regia Università di Iliria - Universiteti Mbretëror Iliria". In Prishtina,

Su Alteza Real el Príncipe Heredero Nugzar Bagrationi-Gruzinski es el sucesor legítimo de los últimos
reyes de la Georgia unificada, el legítimo sucesor de los últimos reyes del reino de Kartli-Kakheti, y el
descendiente de alto nivel por la primogenitura en la línea masculina de Giorgi XII. En 2006, el ex
jefe de la Casa Real Imereti, SAR la Princesa Nino Bagration-Imeretinski (1915-2008), firmó un

SOBRE LOS ORÍGENES DE LA GRAN FAMILIA REAL DE BAGRATIONI - GRUZINSKI
La historia de la real familia Bagrationi está conectada orgánicamente con el pueblo georgiano
durante siglos. El Real dinastía Bagrationi, que encabezó el estado de Georgia durante más de mil
años, ocupa con razón, un lugar de honor entre las dinastías cristianas. Durante milenios, los
representantes de la dinastía Bagrationi hicieron contribuciones significativas militares del país, la

Erekle II y Giorgi XII el título de "príncipe de Georgia" (Gruzinski), y este título con el tiempo se
convirtió en su apellido. Los representantes de todas las demás ramas de la familia Bagrationi
tuvieron sólo un título de príncipe, que estaba por debajo del título de príncipe georgiano. Ejemplos

Su Alteza Real el Príncipe Leka II de los albaneses
Él nació, el 26 de marzo de 1982, en Johannesburgo, en Sudáfrica, de
la unión del rey Leka I de los albaneses y la reina Susana. Sus abuelos
eran rey Zog I y la Reina Geraldine.
El joven príncipe ha seguido sus estudios en la universidad de
Johannesburgo la de San Pedro. La Familia Real de Albania
definitivamente ha regresado a su país el 28 de junio de 2002.
En 2004, el Príncipe ha pasado por una formación militar en la
Academia Militar “Scanderbeg" en Tirana y, en 2005, fue admitido,
como su padre, en la famosa academia militar británica. Al final de sus
cursos en el ejército británico, el príncipe Leka II se graduó como
oficial. Era "el mejor estudiante extranjero de la Academia Militar de
Sandhurst."
De vuelta en Albania, el Príncipe ha completado su formación en estudios económicos y ha seguido un
curso especial de lengua italiana en la institución italiana más antigua y prestigiosa, la "Universidad
para Extranjeros di Perugia". Mientras tanto, él también hizo estudios de derecho por
correspondencia. Habla varios idiomas extranjeros.
El 18 de agosto de 2007, el príncipe Leka II se convirtió en asesor del Ministro de Asuntos Exteriores
y desde julio de 2009, es asesor del Ministro del Interior.
El príncipe es particularmente activo en el campo de la educación de la juventud (Obtiene becas
especiales para estudiantes de la "Universidad Real de Iliria - Universiteti Mbretëror Iliria." En
