The neighborhood above Carrera 1, uphill from La Candelaria, is
called Egipto. South of Calle 7, past the presidential palace, is called
Las Cruces. It's not especially recommendable to go walking in
these neighborhoods with your valuables.

Calle 84 is the lower cross-street, and 12 is the building on the block
between Calle 84 and 85.

IMPORTANT: If you are riding buses within the city, do not take a bus
that says "La Candelaria." These buses do not go to La Candelaria
where the Platypus is located - they go to a completely different area
called La Candelaria, far in the south of the city. Buses that say
"Germania" stop near or in the traffic circle at the intersection of
Carrera 3 and Calle 19, just a few blocks from the Platypus.

To leave Bogota on a bus going north (for example, to Villa de
Leyva), buses can also be found by taking the Transmilenio to the
furthest point north (Portal del Norte station). Buses line up both
inside the Portal del Norte station and outside along the street in
front of the Exito store.
