Pope Francis’ Prayer Intentions for April
Universal: That small farmers may receive a just reward for
their precious labor.
Evangelization: That Christians in Africa may give witness to
love and faith in Jesus Christ amid political-religious conflicts.
No Parking Zones
Due to crowding at some of our
most popular mass times, we've
noticed that some cars are parking
in "No Parking" zones. These
areas are curbs lined with red
paint, reserved priest parking
spaces, the grass, and double
parking (blocking in other cars.)
Please keep in mind that safety is
our first concern in the parking lot
and we must allow passage way
for emergency vehicles if
necessary. Thanks for honoring
the no parking zones.

Capital Campaign News: Time and Talent
Great news to share regarding the Capital Campaign that was kicked
off in January of this year!!
We have $1,133,837 in our savings account already, with pledges for
an additional $1.4 million to be paid over the next two years. Through
children’s pledges, we have another committed $3,024.This puts us
halfway toward our goal of raising $5.0 million that allows us to begin
Phase One of the master plan.
In the area of fundraising, we have sold over 225
tickets to the 50/50 raffle that will net one ticket holder $50,000 once
the final ticket is sold and the drawing occurs. Sales are still brisk
after Masses and we have several volunteers who are willing to take
5 or 10 tickets and sell them in their social circles and workplaces.
Please contact Vin O’Reilly if you are willing to assist in this way.
The youth of the parish recently held a bake sale to support the
Capital Campaign. The girls from just one Faith Formation class
raised $325.00 through their time and talents.
The youth of the parish again rallied and provided $400.00 from funds
received during Cardboard Box City.
We have orchid sales coming up on May 1st, where proceeds will
benefit the Capital Campaign. Use this opportunity to celebrate your
mother, grandmother, favorite aunt or teacher with a beautiful orchid!
Witness talks are being lined up for after Mass presentations. It is
vitally important that all our parishioners see the hand of the Holy
Spirit in our lives and these witness talks do just that. Each one is
personal and from the heart, explaining the impact parish life and
liturgy has on their love of the parish and our Lord.
Progress has been made on the tree of life recognition plaques. The
design of the tree has been expanded to accommodate all seven
giving levels of the campaign.
The master plan of our campus has been modeled by parishioner,
Orvin Flint. Orvin used his time and talent in creating the model and
serves as a motivational inspiration for all of us, young and old alike.
There are many opportunities to get involved in fundraising and
service to the parish to fulfill our goal to a successful Phase One
build. Please consider how your family can get involved and contact
Vin O’Reilly at [email protected] to offer your assistance.

to 5 years old. Our mission is to provide them with enriching and
fun experiences that support and foster success in all areas of

God’s Mercy in My Life
Forgiving ourselves is a difficult task. Shame, pride, and
believing we are identified with our sin are deeply rooted
within us. We are convinced these make us unlovable. So, how
do we forgive ourselves? We need the help of another’s gaze,
someone who says: ‘You are precious in my eyes, and
glorious, and I love you’ (Is. 43:4). We find this in the merciful
gaze of God.
In God’s gaze, we are freed from the need to show ourselves
in a favorable light or pretend we are faultless. In His gaze, we
can simple be who we are, like a child in the arms of her
father, perfectly content because she knows he loves her.
It can be hard to believe that God can look at us with this
merciful gaze. But, we must not forget that love is given
freely; it is not and cannot be deserved. We don’t stop loving
our children when they do something wrong. In the same
way, our deficiencies don’t prevent God from loving us. So let
us run to God and ask Him for the grace to see ourselves with
His eyes, to believe that He loves and forgives us, so that we
can let go and forgive ourselves.

Be Love
Today’s Readings: Acts
14:21–27; Psalm 145:8–9,
10–11, 12–13; Revelation
21:1–5a; John 13:31–33a,
34–35.
By this time in the Easter
season, we might have
almost forgotten that we
are still celebrating
Christ’s triumph over
death. We continue to tell
the story of evangelization in the early Church in the
First Reading, but the Gospel today brings us back to
the Last Supper where Jesus commands us to love.
Why are we hearing this story again?
Before his Passion and Death, Jesus
instructed that we love others as he loved. To love as
he loves means to serve our neighbors, care for the
poor and marginalized, and love those who have no
one to love them. Christ’s Death and Resurrection
teaches us that love requires us to give all that we are
for the sake of the other. Jesus’ message is very
clear, and yet we live in a world that struggles to love.
Nearing the end of Easter, has the Resurrection of
Christ challenged you to love more? If so, how might
you express that? At the Eucharistic table, we share
intimately with the whole Body of Christ in the
greatest gift ever given, the Risen Christ. The love
poured out on the table nourishes us and sends us as
love in the world. This love reveals the new heaven
and the new earth. It foreshadows the fulfillment of
creation at the end of time. Consider those in your
community who need the love of Christ. Reach out to
them by having coffee with them, serving a meal, or
just being a friend.
