Advent is not for wimps. Well Christianity is not for wimps for that matter. Our faith can be
challenging, it can get in your face, it is not politically correct. We welcome the stranger, care for the
orphan, protect widows. We have theology that is sublime and mysterious. Just like our God, who is
both simple and really beyond our imagining. Our God is not limited by time or space, he made both time and space. Yet
He chose to send His only Son to live among us out of Love. Jesus took on flesh as a little baby, a fragile child, to make a
way for us to the Father. If you look for Jesus this advent you will find Him
leading us to His Father, to Our Father in heaven.

The Vocations Committee is in
DESPERATE NEED of 20 individuals or families who could spend
15-20 minutes one day a month to
pray for vocations to the priesthood
or religious life. The 31 club is a
prayer program for vocations
whereby people pick one day a
month to spend a little time in
prayer for vocations. It costs
nothing to sign up and participate.
Presently, there are only 11 out of
the 31 calendar days with someone
assigned. The Calendar is displayed
on the bulletin board in the narthex
where you can see what days are

Adviento no es para los débiles. Pues el cristianismo
no es para los débiles, en cuanto a eso se trata.
Nuestra fe puede ser un reto, sé nos puede echar en
cara, pero no es políticamente correcto. Damos la bienvenida al forastero,
el cuidado de los huérfanos y protegemos a las viudas. Tenemos teología
que es sublime y misteriosa. Al igual que nuestro Dios, que es a la vez
simple y realmente más allá de nuestra imaginación. Nuestro Dios no está
limitado por el tiempo o el espacio, el hizo el tiempo y el espacio.
Sin embargo, Él escogió enviar a su único hijo a vivir entre nosotros por
Amor. Un niño frágil, para ser un camino para nosotros hacia el Padre.
Si usted busca a Jesús este adviento encontrarás lo que nos lleva a nuestro
Padre en el cielo.

una mejor educación, mejores viviendas y desarrollo económico. A través
de CCHD y sus beneficiarios, demostramos la enseñanza social católica y
realizamos la misión de Jesús para “llevar a los pobres la buena nueva …
para anunciar la liberación a los cautivos y la curación a los ciegos, para
dar libertad a los oprimidos” (Lc 4:18).
Reflexionemos sobre la Palabra de Dios
¿Cómo se prepara un corazón para la Navidad? No es tan diferente de
como preparamos cualquier habitación del hogar para este tiempo.
Quitamos algunas cosas y ponemos otras: luces, velas y decoraciones
apropiadas. Eso mismo podemos hacer con nuestro corazón, tanto
personalmente como dentro de la comunidad. Hoy hay cuatro voces que
nos indican una dirección.
Jeremías nos pide que recordemos
al Dios que hizo tanto por la casa
de Israel y la casa de Judá, haciendo nacer “un retoño legítimo”
Jeremías 33:15) del viejo tronco en
que se había convertido Israel, y
remplazando el liderazgo sin vida
con una rama de la casa de David.
La justicia florecerá para todos.
Jeremías nos exhorta a confiar en
los designios de Dios, que van más
allá de lo que podemos ver.
Las palabras de Jesús, sin embargo,
parecen contradecir todo esto, pronosticando señales que consternarán y desconcertarán a las gentes,
que se morirán de espanto. ¿Qué
pasó con la seguridad y la justicia?
Toda esta actividad que asusta no
es, sin embargo, para los que
aguardan al Señor. Las palabras de
Jesús son fuertes: Pongan atención
y levanten la cabeza. Estén alertas
y no se embriaguen ni se dejen
arrastrar por los vicios. La redención está cerca y a nuestro alcance.
Pablo nos recuerda que mejor renovemos nuestro corazón llenándolo
del amor de Dios por los demás. La
manera de hacer esto es llevándonos bien los unos con los otros.
Un año nuevo nos ofrece tiempo,
tiempo para sanar las relaciones
que se han dañado y para extender
nuestras manos a alguien que hemos desatendido. Dios permanece
a nuestro lado derramando el Espíritu Santo en nuestros corazones.
