Bible Study: This year’s Bible reflection will include a section of the Old Testament called the “Wisdom
Writings”: Proverbs, (Ecclesiastes), Sirach (Ecclesiastes), Wisdom, Job, Song of Songs, Psalms. “Wisdom” has
to do with the examination of our life experience, our culture and the world around us to discern God’s will
leading to rights living. We will focus specifically on the Book of Proverbs as an occasion to “do wisdom in
our own lives”. We will meet on the First and Third Tuesday of each month in the Rectory at 7:30 p.m. come
and join Fr. James Villa, it is continuing on October 18, November 1 & 15, 2016, March 7 & 21, 2017,
April 4, & 18, 2017 and May 2 & 16, 2017.
CRAFT MEET-UP - First sessions -Learn beginner knitting.
We would like to get together and offer a crafting group here at St. Mary's community. Our first workshops will
be on learning how to knit traditionally and arm knitting if there's enough interest. Handmade items make great
presents and are welcome at nursing homes and veteran groups. If you would like to learn a new skill or would
like to share your expertise; we would like to spend an hour or so once or twice a month here at St. Mary's in
the early evenings. We can chat; have some tea, knit or crochet. We can set up a day and meet either in the hall
or the rectory parlor once we get an idea of how many are interested. No cost involved; knitting needles and
yarn will be provided. All ages are welcome. Please get in touch with Stephanie Del Principe soon to let her
know you would like to participate. Call 914-262-3172 or email [email protected].
