Holy Angels Girl Scouts Brow nie Troop 449 Happenings Our Brownie Troop is in the process of completing the f inal steps of the Brownie Quest Journey. Part of the f inal steps is to perf orm a serv ice project. The Troop has selected the Delaware SPCA as their serv ice charity. You can support them in achiev ing their goals and help a needy animal by donating any of the f ollowing items f rom the SPCA wish list. A donation box will be in f ront of Holy Angels School Of f ice f rom January 9 – 30. Please drop y our donations there and help their girls in their quest. All Night Vigil The Alliance of the Two Hearts "Communion of Reparation All st Night Vigil" is held on the 1 Friday and Saturday of each month. February ’s v igil will be held February 3/4 at St. Hedwig Chapel, 408 S. St. John-Holy Angels has joined the Newark Empowerment Center, a collaborativ e ministry of Newark area churches, to help the homeless and displaced in Newark, especially during the winter months, with Code Purple at Holy F amily Church. Happy Catholic Schools Week! (January 29 – February 3) It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that we embark upon the celebration of Catholic Schools Week 2012! Schools throughout the nation will be celebrating the theme of “Faith, Academics and Serv ice”. Holy Angels School has many wonderf ul activ ities planned to spread the message and awareness of the gif ts that are shared here among students, staf f and parents. Please keep us in pray er as we continue to liv e and exemplif y the Franciscan charism that def ines the mission statement of our school! When the temperatures drop to 20 degrees or lower, area churches open their sanctuaries as a hav en f rom the cold. This is not a shelter; there are no showers or lockers. It is simply a warm, saf e room where people with no place to go that night can get in out of the cold. It is open f rom 6:00 PM at night to 6:00 AM in the morning. The host church prov ides a light supper in the ev ening, hot bev erages through the night, and the Newark Empowerment Center prov ides transportation f or those who need it in the morning.
