The Field Trip/Fundraiser Meeting last week was great! In short the fundraising we are doing is
to send our students on a two day trip to the Grand Canyon and NAU Observatory in the beginning of
May. Cost is $75/person. Please watch for notes coming home for how you can help raise funds for our
students to go.
2nd and 6th grade parents had a form sent home last week offering for your child to
have dental sealants put on their teeth. Please return this form to the school office so this
service can be provided to your student.
Wow, I can't believe October is over! November is going
to go by
just as quickly, I'm sure. As we head into the
holidays often the behaviors in the classroom change.
Please speak with your child about appropriate
behaviors. Things to discuss are: not talking during
lessons and listening, staying on task, being kind to
classmates, and being respectful to all adults at
school.Thank
you for keeping up with your child's
homework. Please remember to read with your child
each night.

I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween! This time of
the year is so exciting with all the holidays coming up,
and families getting into the spirit of all the festivities.
Please make sure that your wonderful children are not
eating ANY candy before school in the morning, and if
you allow them to bring candy for their recess snack in
the morning, please be responsible and limit it to only a
couple pieces. I am very excited for the parent/teacher
conferences this quarter! If you have not already sent in
your preferred time, please let me know ASAP; otherwise
you will be assigned a time. Thank you so much for
working with me to help your student learn and grow this
year!
Welcome Back!
This quarter
the students and I will venture off to
investigate and learn about birds. We will learn the one
and only characteristic that makes a bird unique and
different from any other animal, We will study bird
beaks, feet, feathers, and nests, and identify the reason
why different birds have different beaks, feathers, feet,
and build different nests.
If you happen
to have a pet bird or know of someone who
has a pet bird and would like to come show it to our class,
please do not hesitate to contact me.

¡No lo puedo
creer! El mes de octubre se fue volando.
Estoy segura que noviembre se irá igual de rápido. Al
empezar la época festiva, el comportamieno de los
alumnos tiende a cambiar. Le ruego que hable con su hijo
acerca del comportamiento a seguir. Cosas de las que
pueden hablar son: estar atentos a la maestra y no
interrumpir cuando está dando clases, terminar su trabajo
y ser amable y respetuoso con sus compañeros y adultos.
También les agradezco de antemando su ayuda con la
tarea escolar.
Por favor lea con su hijo(a) todas las
noches. ¡Les deseo una feliz semana!
Espero que hayan celebrado "Halloween" de una forma
sana y divertida. Esta época del año es muy alegre por
todos. Todas las familias se inundan de emoción por las
festividades. Le rogamos que se asegure que su hijo(a) no
coma dulces antes de venir a la escuela. Si desea enviarle
dulces para la refacción, le rogamos que sea una canidad
limitada. Estoy ansioso por las reuniones de padres y
maestros de este período. Si no ha enviado la fecha y hora
que más le conviene, por favor hágalo lo antes posible. De
lo contrario, yo le asugnaré una hora y día para reunirnos.
Quiero agradecerle por su apoyo para ayudar a su hijo a
desenvolverse y aprender este año escolar.

cualquier
otro animal y estudiaremos las razones por las
cuales las aves tienen diferentes picos, patas, plumas, y
nidos.
