Today our Bishop has requested that we help out the victims of the flooding in Louisiana. The recent flooding was the worst in the state’s history leaving thousands of homes severely damaged. Bishop Konderla has asked that all of the parishes of the Tulsa Diocese participate in a second collection today at our Masses for the relief of those affected by the devastation of the floods. Please be as generous as you can be. I thank all those who have recently been giving to our parish more sacrificially. I know that God will bless you for your generosity as He will never be outdone in generosity. And on a similar note I just want to mention to you that we are getting closer and closer to paying off the rest of the debt on the Chapel of St.Toribio. We are about $14,000.00 away now from being free of this debt. Please continue to give generously to this important cause and for your convenience you can use the monthly envelope in your package of envelopes that is marked for the building campaign. Speaking of package of envelopes, if anyone needs the envelopes to be mailed to your house please see Alejandra, my secretary in the parish office. I would like it if everyone would use the envelopes on a regular basis. It would make your own giving more organized and we would also have a record of your donations that can be used to make out the annual tax deduction letters. If you have any questions please see me. Padre Jose Andres Cortez will soon be celebrating his birthday. It will be this coming Saturday, September 24th. We are planning a party for him to which everyone is invited. The party will be held in the cafeteria starting at 7:00 p.m. Please come and help us to celebrate together as a parish family. Padre Jose Andres is doing a great job and this is really his first parish assignment as a newly ordained priest. Let’s help him to make it a wonderful experience through our warmth and support. September 18, 2016 Soon the annual Forty Days For Life Campaign will kick off on Wednesday, September 28th at the Garden of Hope across from Reproductive Services. The Kick Off will start at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. Our particular day to keep vigil will be on Sunday, October 2nd which is Respect Life Sunday. We will take turns going out to the Garden of Hope so that there is always someone to pray for the end of abortion. The prayer will continue day and night for forty days and many parishes and other institutions will take their shift at the Abortion Center. Ginnet Carbajal is the organizer for our parish and she will be signing people up after the Masses. Please stop by her table and put your name on one of the slots. God bless each of you for all that you do around the parish and may your week be free of worry and anxiety. Sincerely yours, Father Timothy Davison Father Stanley Rother Cause for Canonization Walk.
