Altar Society Saturday morning, December 18 at 9:00 we will be cleaning and doing some preparation for Christmas; and, on Wednesday evening, December 22, we will complete final preparation for Christmas beginning at 5:00 until... All are most welcome. Poinsettia Fund Youth Group The High School Youth Group will NOT MEET again until after the Christmas holidays due to the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and the Parish Penance Service the next 2 weeks. Honor the memory of your loved one this Christmas season by giving a donation to the Poinsettia fund. Envelopes are available in the pews to place in the regular collection basket. Names of your honored loved ones will be published in the bulletin. St. Vincent de Paul Angel Tree Our SVdP would like to give the parish the opportunity to help a local child at Christmas this year by choosing an angel off St. Joseph’s angel tree. To deliver your angel’s Christmas (unwrapped), please bring to the Parish Office by December 17. (Office hours are M-F, 8am – 3pm). Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults The next RCIA session will be Tuesday, December 14th at 7 pm in the parish library of St. Joseph Church. RCIA classes will be held every Tuesday evening. If you have any questions, call John McAllister at 842-2525. Christmas Cards for Trish Parish Council/Finance Committee Nominations Nomination forms for both groups will be available this weekend. The term of service is three years beginning January, 2011. Please prayerfully consider who may be willing and able to serve in either of these important leadership roles. Baskets will be available at both entrances to return nomination form. St. Joseph Parish and Catholic Charities partner to provide this service. 4 **2010 Christmas and New Year's Camp** Brand new to end the 2010 year and to welcome in the new year, is our Christmas and New Year's camp for high school age youth. The camp starts at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 31st, and ends on Sunday, January 2nd at 1:00pm. Lots of games, activities, folk dancing, zipline, our new indoor low elements course, and lots more will occupy the time. We will also celebrate mass at midnight to welcome in the new year with the greatest gift that we have as Catholics. The cost for the camp is only $50 for the weekend! Come meet new friends, catch up with old friends and have lots of fun celebrating the true meaning of Christmas and welcoming in the new year. Simply download the Camp LIFE form from the Camps link at www.gasperriverretreatcenter.org and you'll be good to go. Guys bring a 2-liter and ladies bring a bag of chips/snacks to share. Everyone needs to bring a wrapped gift, $5 or less, for the gift exchange (the cheesier the better)!!! The celebration will begin with a rosary with hymns between the mysteries; and then, the scientific explanation of San Juan Diego "Tilma" or "Ayate" will be followed by the play of the apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe to San Juan Diego. We will have an English version of the play. Following the play, we will serve coffee, snacks, hot chocolate, etc with Mexican Folklore dances.
