We’re excited to share our work in 2014 to improve the
quality of life in Richmond through a modernized refinery
and our partnerships with the community.
Since 2009, Chevron has invested more than $580
million in Richmond and West County – creating jobs,
supporting local
businesses and
nonprofits and

MODERNIZATION PROJECT
ENVIRONMENTAL AND COMMUNITY
BENEFITS AGREEMENT
GIVING BACK TO
RICHMOND
The Richmond City Council approved the Refinery Modernization
Project in July, making way for a project that will decrease emissions
and enhance safety and make a $90 million* investment in the
Richmond and North Richmond communities. We agreed to significant
compromises based on input from city leaders and the community. The
result will allow us to deliver a newer, safer, cleaner
refinery that is better for Richmond. We want to
recognize the more than 11,000 residents, labor
union members, community partners and
Chevron employees who actively supported
modernization.
The Refinery Modernization Project includes significant benefits
for the entire Richmond and North Richmond communities.
These include funding for college scholarships, job skills training,
greenhouse gas reduction programs and much more.
Chevron employees and contractors are
dedicated to making a difference by donating
their time to support local nonprofits in
need. See how our employees and
contractors made a difference this year.

Toy Giveaway Spreads Joy to Children
BY MARK AYERS
Richmond, El Cerrito and Chevron firefighters and police officers are
proud to organize the annual Richmond/El Cerrito Fire and Police
Holiday Toy Program, which donates thousands of new, unwrapped toys
to local children in need. It’s a wonderful event that’s grown from a
small local toy drive to a major giveaway benefiting more than 1,500
Contra Costa County families. Chevron annually donates time, energy and money to
help make the toy drive a success. We’re happy to be part of this effort, which helps
ensure that no child goes without this holiday season. For more information about
the toy drive, visit www.toyprogram.org.

juguetes, visite www.toyprogram.org.
