SPANISH134–ORALEXAMII ORALCONVERSATIONABOUTASPANISHSPEAKINGCOUNTRY PURPOSE You and one of your classmates will take part in an oral conversation mediated by your instructor that will last for about 10 minutes. The purpose of this activity is to evaluate your spontaneousconversationalspeakingabilityandyourinvestigationoffunandinterestingfacts aboutapreviouslyselectedSpanish-speakingcountry. YouwillbeevaluatedinpairsduringthelastdayofPartIIIofthecourse(day5ofweek9).Your teacherwillgiveyouatimeslotfortheexam.Youneedtochooseyourpartner. DuringtheconversationyouwilltalkaboutaSpanish-speakingcountry.Youandyourpartner will talk about the same country and your choice needs to be approved by the teacher. Therefore,youneedtoletyourteacherknowwhichcountryyouwanttotalkaboutatleasta weekbeforetheconversation. Ifthereisatopicrelatedtothiscountryyouareparticularlyinterestedabout(ahistoricalevent, afamouscharacter,acity,anartistandhis/herwork,etc.),youcanchoosetotalkaboutthis topicratherthanaboutthecountryingeneral. Thisactivityrequiresyoutofindoutinterestinginformationaboutyourcountryandbeableto explainanddiscussitinaninformativeandconversationalway.Yourteacherwillwanttoknow where you found the information to prepare for the conversation so please come to conversationdaypreparedtoshowalistofbooksorwebsitesthatyouhaveconsulted. Sincethisisaconversationyoushouldnotjustwaitfortheteachertoaskyouquestions.You canaskquestionsyourself,toyourteacherand/ortoyourpartner.
