General Information
Only fully trained personnel with a sound
understanding of the product should be
allowed to install and service controllable
gas spring systems.
Installation Guidelines
It is important the following points are
considered before installation:
• A controllable KF2 gas spring has 5
ports (3 for KF2-A 1500). These are
marked as follows:
“1” Gas port 1: G1/8"
(double for KF2/KF2-A 3000- 7500)
“3” Gas port 3: G1/8"
(double for KF2/KF2-A 3000-7500)
“4” Air port 4: with Ø6 mm push lock
(max 10 bar)
• Gas Port 1 contains a replenishing
valve that must first be removed when
connection to a hose system is made.
• KF2+KP systems require two
independent hose systems for gas
charging and evacuation. A large hose
system must be used to connect Gas
Port 3 (KF2 spring(s)) to Gas Port 3
(Valve Block) and Gas Port 5 (Valve
Block) to Gas Port 5 (KP spring). The
EZ hose system is used to connect
Gas Port 1 (KF2 spring(s)) to Gas Port
1 (Valve Block).
• Use only nitrogen (N2) gas. The use of
other gas types could result in personal
injury or failure of the gas spring/
control block.
• Never exceed the maximum gas
charging pressure, marked on the side
of the gas spring tube.
• Generally the maximum charge
pressure at 20 °C is 150 bar for the
KF2 controllable gas springs.
• Generally the minimum charge
pressure at 20 °C is 20 bar for the KF2
controllable gas springs.
• Use the mounting holes, whenever
possible, to secure the Control Unit
and Valve Block.
• All gas springs that are hosed/linked
together should be of the same model
size and stroke.
• Position the control block in the tool
where it will be protected from
mechanical damage and on a level
higher than the gas springs in the
system to minimise the loss of
lubrication oil when discharging the
gas.
• To avoid gas leakage, use only
components that have been tested by
Strömsholmen.
Warning! It is not necessarily a sign that
a KF2 gas spring has been discharged if
the piston rod is in its retracted position

Det är viktigt att läsa igenom följande
punkter före installationen:
• En reglerbar KF2-gasfjäder har 5
portar (3 för KF2-A 1500). De är
markerade på följande sätt:
“1” Gasport 1: G1/8"

(dubbel på KF2 3000 -7500)
“4” Luftport 4: med Ø6 mm trycklås

• Gasport 1 har en påfyllningsventil som
måste tas bort när anslutning till ett
slangsystem görs.
• KF2+KP-system kräver två separata
slangsystem för påfyllning och
utsläppning av gas. Ett stort
slangsystem måste användas när
gasport 3 (KF2-fjäder (-fjädrar)) ansluts
till gasport 3 (ventilblock) och gasport 5
(ventilblock) till gasport 5 (KP-fjäder).
Slangsystemet EZ används vid
anslutning av gasport 1 (KF2-fjäder
(-fjädrar)) till gasport 1 (ventilblock).
• Använd endast kvävgas (N2). Om andra
gastyper används kan det orsaka
personskada eller leda till att fjäder
reglerblock inte fungerar.
• Överskrid aldrig det angivna maximala
gastrycket som finns markerat på
gasfjäderrörets sida.
• I allmänhet ligger det maximala trycket
vid 20 °C på 150 bar för reglerbara
gasfjädrar av typen KF2.
• I allmänhet ligger det lägsta trycket vid
20 °C på 20 bar för reglerbara
gasfjädrar av typen KF2.
• Använd i möjligaste mån
monteringshålen när du ska fästa
reglerenheten och ventilblocket.
• Alla gasfjädrar som är
sammankopplade med slang eller
annat ska vara av samma
modellstorlek och slag.
• Placera kontrollblocket i verktyget på
så sätt att det är skyddat mot maskinell
skada och så att det befinner sig en
nivå högre än gasfjädrarna i systemet.
Därmed minimeras förlusten av
smörjolja när gasen släpps ut.
• Använd endast komponenter som har
testats av Strömsholmen, för att
undvika gasläckor.
Varning! Att kolvstången befinner sig i
indraget läge, betyder inte nödvändigtvis
att KF2-gasfjädern har släppts ut.

La instalación y mantenimiento de los
sistemas de resortes de gas controlables
sólo debe efectuarla personal cualificado
con un conocimiento exhaustivo del
producto.
Directrices de instalación
Es fundamental tener en cuenta los
puntos siguientes antes de proceder a la
instalación:
• Los resortes de gas controlables KF2
incluyen 5 puertos (3 en los modelos
1500). Su marcación es la
siguiente:
“1” Puerto de gas 1: G1/8"
(doble en KF2 3000- 7500)
“3” Puerto de gas 3: G1/8"
(doble en KF2 3000-7500)
“4” Puerto de aire 4: con tapa de Ø6
mm (máx. 10 bares)
• El puerto de gas 1 integra una válvula
de carga que debe ser retirada al
realizar la conexión a un sistema de
mangas.
• Los sistemas KF2+KP necesitan dos
sistemas de mangas independientes
para la carga y evacuación del gas. Se
debe emplear el sistema de mangas
JIC para conectar el puerto de gas 3
(resorte/s KF2) al puerto de gas 3
(bloque de válvulas), y el puerto de
gas 5 (bloque de válvulas) al puerto de
gas 5 (resorte KP). El sistema de
mangas EZ se utiliza para conectar el
puerto de gas 1 (resorte/s KF2) al
puerto de gas 1 (bloque de válvulas).
• Usar únicamente gas nitrógeno (N2). El
empleo de otros tipos de gas podría
provocar daños personales o la avería
del resorte de gas/bloque de control.
• No superar nunca la presión de carga
máxima del gas, que se indica en el
lateral del tubo del resorte de gas.
• Normalmente, la presión máxima de
carga a 20 °C es de 150 bares en los
resortes de gas controlables KF2.
• Normalmente, la presión mínima de
carga a 20 °C es de 20 bares en los
resortes de gas controlables KF2.
• Siempre que sea posible, emplear los
orificios de montaje para montar la
Unidad de Control y el Bloque de
Válvulas.
• Todos los resortes de gas conectados
por mangas u otro tipo de
acoplamiento deben ser de las mismas
dimensiones y carrera.
• Situar el bloque de control en la
herramienta para protegerlo de todo
tipo de deterioro mecánico, y a un nivel
más alto que los resortes de gas del
sistema, con el fin de reducir al mínimo
las pérdidas de aceite lubricante en las
descargas de gas.
• Para evitar fugas, emplear sólo
componentes certificados por
Strömsholmen.
¡Advertencia! Si el vástago del pistón
se encuentra en posición retraída, no se
necesita una placa para avisar de que el
resorte de gas KF2 se encuentra
descargado.

a Quick-coupling for gas charging and a
separate discharge valve used only in
connection with a KP Passive Spring.
