Agustín Sánchez Lavega is since 1994 full Physics Professor
Agustín Sánchez Lavega is since 1994 full Physics Professor (Catedrático) at the Engineering School of the Universidad País Vasco (UPV-EHU) in Bilbao (Spain). After graduation at UPV-EHU he worked at the Centro Astronómico Hispano-Alemán (Calar Alto Observatory) in Almería (Spain). Following his PhD on Saturn’s atmosphere, he incorporated back to the UPV-EHU where he is head of the Grupo Ciencias Planetarias (Planetary Sciences Group) and director of the Aula EspaZio Gela, a facility at the School of Engineers, where a Master in Space Science and Technology is developed. He served as member of the Solar System Working Group of the European Space Agency between 2004 and 2006. Currently he is also head of the Department of Applied Physics I at UPV-EHU. He has been co-author of books chapter on the giant and extrasolar planets and author of more than 150 papers in refereed journals on the book subject.
