François GUIN
François Guin est un tromboniste, flûtiste et chef d’orchestre né en France en 1938.
Compositeur et orchestrateur infatigable, il obtient le Prix Django Reinhardt 1969, qui consacre
le meilleur musicien de Jazz de l’année.
Il a 30 ans lorsqu’il est invité par Duke Ellington pour jouer dans son grand orchestre. Imprégné
alors par toutes les couleurs musicales du «Duke», François Guin les fera briller dans ses
compositions et arrangements.
Aujourd’hui François Guin met son travail à la disposition de tous les musiciens et de toutes les
écoles de musique dans le monde entier, comme une sorte de legs universel et international.
Francois Guin is a trombonist, flautist and band leader, born in France in 1938.
As a tireless arranger, he won the Django Reinhardt Prize for jazz musician of the year in 1969.
At the age of 30 Duke Ellingtonhired him to work with his big band. Influenced by the Duke’s musical
range, Francois Guin set to work arranging and composing his own music.
Now Francois Guin has decided to make his body of work available to all musicians and schools
worldwide as a sort of international donation to the musical world.
Francois Guin es un trombonista, flautista y Director de orquesta, nacido en Francia en 1938.
Compositor y orchestador infatigable, obtuvo el Premio Django Reinhardt en 1969, como el
mejor mùsico de jazz del año.
Tenia 30 años de edad cuando fué invitado por Duke Ellington para tocar en su Gran Orquesta.
Impregnado por todos los colores musicales del « Duke », Francois Guin los haria brillar en sus
propias composiciones y arreglos.
Ahora Francois Guin pone su trabajo a la disposiciòn de todos los mùsicos y escuelas de mùsica
del mundo, entero como un legado universal.
François Guin ist ein Posaunist, Flötist und Bandleader, geboren 1938 in Frankreich.
Als unermüdlicher Arrangeur gewann er im Jahr 1969 den Django Reinhardt Preis, der jeweils dem
besten Jazzmusiker des Jahres gewidmet ist.
Im Alter von 30 Jahren engagiert ihn Duke Ellington in seine Big Band. Der Musikstil des „Duke“
beeinflusst seitdem seine Kompositionen und Arrangements.
Heute stellt François Guin seine Arbeiten allen Musikern und Musikschulen weltweit zur Verfügung,
als eine Art universelles und internationales Vermächtnis.
