the foundation of strict academic study, Frontier schools established high standards in
education. At Frontier our goal is to create an inviting, safe, small, and purposeful environment
with a friendly atmosphere that encourages our students desire for knowledge and help them
express themselves more effectively.
Our model encourages teachers to engage in home visits with students’ families to build a strong parent-studentteacher triad. Through home visits, our teachers help building caring relationships with students and parents.
Our faculty is dedicated to provide the highest quality education in an environment that emphasizes structure,
self-discipline and attention to detail in all academic and social interactions.
In addition, Parents are able to monitor their child’s classroom activities, grades, homework, attendance,

With the Kansas City region having the fourth
largest engineering, manufacturing and technology
workforce, it’s key to transform how our students
ents
engage in science, technology, engineering, and
nd
math, also known as STEM. At Frontier we
believe that excelling in math and science
prepares young people to succeed in college, the
workplace, and be competitive in the 21st century.
This will lead to students becoming productive and
responsible citizens.
In addition to innovative mathematics and science
n,
instruction, the curriculum immerses students in hands-on,
problem-solving and project-based learning. Students are
allowed to create, invent, and solve challenging real-world
problems and learn more about engineering, powerful
scientific tools as well as advancements in technology.
Frontier science fairs are more competitive than regional science
fairs. Students work on projects in the areas of math, science,
computer or engineering categories. A science fair project is
a valuable means of applying the concept of
scientific methods as well as a fun learning
experience.

At Frontier, students will participate in

there are many opportunities for our students to get involved
in other science-related programs on the local, regional and

The school model is rigorous (prepares
students for college), relevant (reinforces
math and science skills) and underpinned by a
tight web of relationships (a
strong culture reinforced by teachers
and parents). Frontier attributes
its strong outcomes to three
core principles within the
school model: a challenging
math and science curriculum
supported by theory; a focus on assessment;
and a culture of constructive competition,
discipline, and parental engagement. Frontier
utilizes technology across all of these
dimensions to reinforce its school model
and curriculum.
A DYNAMIC CURRICULUM
Frontier offers students a wide range of Advanced Placement
(AP) and Honors coursework. The Piaget, Vygotsky, and
Gardner-influenced curriculum challenges students just above
their current level with scaffolding,
a way that groups students by their skills to maximize
educational outcomes.
Exceeding Expectations
ěũ Ongoing assessments and prep exams promote high
passing rates and scores
ěũ Frontier teachers are provided a flexible environment to
customize their teaching approach, so testing isn’t the
only sole focus
ěũ Focus on constructive competition enables academic
achievement to be the primary student focus
ěũ Academic achievement to be the primary student focus
ěũ Annual mandatory student research papers provide the
skills that students will need in college
ěũ Character education cultivates a community of respect
ěũ Academic counseling begins in the seventh grade to help
