The Riley Reader No. 17 January 6, 2014 “Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.” ~Oprah Winfrey This Week: Monday, Jan 6 Tuesday, Jan 7 Classes Resume Data Day Upcoming Events: Friday, Jan 17 Monday, Jan 20 Friday, Jan 24 PBS Awards, Special PBS Awards 3:30-5 No School Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday 2nd Quarter ends Cold Weather The temperature is starting to drop! Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for these cold days. Students will be let in to the building at 8:30 each morning when the temperature is below 30 degrees or if it is raining/snowing. Please make sure your child has appropriate clothing for the cold weather, hats, gloves, and winter coats. For students who may not have hats and gloves see Mr. Rhea. Riley Visitors Visitors please remember to follow our procedures to enter the building. Use the buzzer by door 1 on Wolf Road or door 7 by the parking lot to enter the building. Once entering the building go directly to the office to check in with building staff and sign in. These procedures are in place to help maintain the safety of Riley School. Testing Parents with the New Year comes the season of testing. In January, we will have ACCESS tests for our LEP students. In March our 3rd -5th grade students will be taking the ISAT tests. Please be looking for helpful hints on how to help your child during this testing season. Thanks, Mr. Joel L. Por favor, asegúrese de que su niño está vestido adecuadamente para estos días fríos. En enero, vamos a tener la prueba de ACCESS para nuestros estudiantes de LEP. En marzo nuestros estudiantes de tercero a quinto grado tomarán la prueba ISAT.
