SpikeRight® PLUS Port with an adapter
For use with a universal enteral spike set or SpikeRight® eNteral spike set
Gather necessary equipment (Nestlé UltraPak® closed system with SpikeRight® PLUS Port, Enteral Spike Set, and Enteral
Feeding Spike Adapter with SpikeRight® PLUS Connector). Wash hands with warm water and soap before proceeding.

Shake bag
• Confirm port is SpikeRight® PLUS
• Shake bag well to mix formula

Prepare spike set
• Remove protective cap from
universal or SpikeRight® spike set
• Do not touch the spike once the
cap is removed

Prepare Adapter
• Unscrew small purple cap
from end of enteral feeding

attach spike set to adapter

ecurely fit universal spike into
end of adapter, inserting past
the shoulder (see figure)

hen using the SpikeRight® spike,
turn counterclockwise until tight
Confirm adapter is connected
to an enteral spike set.

• Remove protective white cap from
the adapter
• Place bag on flat, clean surface
• Using clean technique, invert
UltraPak® bag
• Be careful to avoid
contamination—do not
touch the spike port
with your hand

• Turn adapter clockwise until
tightly fastened
• Important! Turn another half
turn to secure fit
• Hold base of SpikeRight® PLUS port
and insert threaded tip of adapter
(now attached to the universal set)
straight into port
• Do not touch the
connector shaft
or spike port

PARA UTILIZAR CON UN CONJUNTO DE PICOS ENTERALES UNIVERSALES O CON UN CONJUNTO DE PICOS
ENTERALES SPIKERIGHT®
Reúna el equipo necesario (sistema cerrado Nestlé bolsa UltraPak® con puerto SpikeRight® PLUS, conjunto de picos
enterales y adaptador de pico para alimentación enteral con conector puerto SpikeRight® PLUS). Antes de continuar,
lávese las manos con agua tibia y jabón.

• Introduzca firmemente el pico universal en el
extremo del adaptador, insertándolo más allá
del reborde (vea la figura)
• No toque el pico una vez
que haya retirado
la tapa
• Cuando utilice el pico SpikeRight®, gírelo hacia
la izquierda hasta que quede ajustado
Compruebe que el adaptador
esté conectado a un conjunto
de picos enterales.

PERFORARLA CON EL PICO
• Retire la tapa violeta o púrpura
que cubre el puerto SpikeRight®
PLUS para alimentación enteral
• Coloque la bolsa sobre una
superficie plana y limpia
• Sea cuidadoso para evitar
la contaminación; no toque
el puerto para pico con
la mano

ÓMO CONECTAR LA

BOLSA DE AlimentaciÓn
• Retire la tapa protectora blanca
del adaptador
• Utilice una técnica aséptica para
invertir la bolsa UltraPak®
• Sujete la base del puerto SpikeRight®
PLUS e inserte la punta roscada del
adaptador (ahora conectada al
conjunto universal) directamente
en el puerto

ASEGURE
EL
ADAPTADOR
• Gire el adaptador hacia la
derecha hasta que esté
sujeto firmemente
• ¡Importante! Gire media
vuelta adicional para asegurar
el adaptador
• No toque el cilindro
del conector
ni el puerto
