In today’s Gospel Jesus sends out the disciples to proclaim
the Good News. Our gathering here, like many such gatherings around the world, is one of the fruits of their labors. As
we worship here today, let us take time to be thankful to God
for all the disciples who have gone before us to spread the
Good News.
Are you looking for something fun to do this summer?
Join the Youth Group on Sundays from 1 pm - 3 pm in the
church meeting room to dig deeper in your faith while
acquiring leadership skills in a fun and exciting environment.
The next baptism classes will be held on August 7 and 14
from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Please note that the classes are for
both parents and godparents, whether the child will be
baptized at a group baptism (to take place August 17 and
18) or at a family baptism on a separate date. For more information, please contact the parish office at 447-2354.

The second collection this weekend will go to the church
maintenance fund, a collection taking place the first weekend of each month. These funds will be reserved entirely
for the maintenance of our buildings and grounds. Thank

FAITH FORMATION
Faith Formation registration for the 2013-2014 year has
begun for all students and will continue until September 1.
Forms are located in the office. Please stop by on a Tuesday or Wednesday between 11 am and 3 pm or by appointment. All Sacrament preparation classes are now two years
with First Communion starting at 1st or 2nd grade and Confirmation starting at 7th or 8th grade. Classes begin on
October 2.
RCIA
The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) program will begin on September 4. If you are
an adult wanting to come into full communion with the Catholic Church, this program can help you to enter more fully into
your faith and prepare you to receive the
sacraments. For more information, please call the office at

The Legion of Mary for St. Joseph Parish is holding their
annual function on Saturday, July 20 at 7:45 a.m. All are
invited to renew the Legion Promise, celebrate Mass, and
gather at the Parish Center for breakfast. All members of
the Legion of Mary, both active and auxiliary, pray the
Rosary daily. The active members minister at convalescent and senior homes and help to celebrate Mass there.
They strive “to do His will” by visiting the sick, homebound, and aged. In order to strengthen this ministry,
they need more members to pray with them and take
part in their work. Please consider attending the meeting
and joining their valuable work.

FREE Produce Twice Per Month! The Mariposa Center,
located at 1625 Alamo Dr, in Vacaville, is a community
Produce Program, which offers free fruits and veggies on
the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 4 pm - 5 pm.
The next distribution day is July 10. Bring 1 or 2 bags.

weekend (July 13-14). Food items needed include: boxed
cereals, individual packaged instant oatmeal, canned soups,
peanut butter, etc.
