Dear Friends of St. Francis, I have been with you for
three years, and now, in this last week of my stay with you,
it is time to say goodbye. I remain ever grateful to Bishop
Farrell for sending me to St. Francis as my first priestly
assignment. I thank Msgr. Larry for his enduring support
during these crucial years of my priestly service. The first
few years of a newly ordained priest are precious and
sacred, and I cannot think of a better community to share it
with than the generous, nurturing, and encouraging
parishioners of St. Francis.
Looking back at this past three years and gathering
the sacred moments we have shared together brings to
mind the action I perform as a priest whenever I celebrate
the Eucharist with you, which is, gathering the fragments of
our lives into the one body of Christ. The precious
memories of laughing with you, sharing in your sorrows,
playing with the youth, giving “hi-fives” to your children
after Mass, and praying with you, will remain ever-green in
my heart.
Thank you for the gift of inviting me into your lives’
sacred moments of sorrow, grief, and joy. Thank you for the
opportunity to serve the most trusting and faith-filled Youth
and the Young Adults of our parish. Investing in the faith of
your children is one of the most essential key to keeping
the parish young at its core and enthusiastic about its
mission.
To the youth and Young Adults, thank you for
trusting Jesus Christ and for loving your Catholic faith.
Always remember that your passionate hunger for what is
good, holy, and fun, is profoundly contained in the
teachings and life of your Catholic Faith, and sustained
through the Eucharist and Reconciliation. The only way we
can change the world is by having more saints. Do not be
afraid; you are the light of the world.
Thank you for sharing, loving and trusting the
priesthood of Christ. While many good priests will cross
your paths, never forget that your faith in Jesus Christ is the
most precious gift that must endure forever. I hope that my
ministry in St. Francis has helped you and me to draw a
little closer to Jesus Christ.
Praise be to Jesus Christ… Now and forever!
Queridos Amigos de San Francisco de Asís, he
estado con ustedes por tres años, y ahora, en ésta última
semana con ustedes, es el momento de decir adiós. Estaré
siempre agradecido con el Obispo Farrell por enviarme a
San Francisco de Asís como mi primera designación
sacerdotal. Los primeros años de un sacerdote recién
ordenado son preciosos y sagrados, y no puedo pensar en
una comunidad mejor para compartirlos que con los
generosos, colmados y favorecidos miembros de San
Francisco.
Viendo hacia atrás en estos tres años y reuniendo
los momentos sagrados que hemos compartido juntos me
trae a la mente el acto que realizo como sacerdote siempre
que celebro la Eucaristía con ustedes, el cual es, reunir los
fragmentos de nuestras vidas en uno, el cuerpo de Cristo.
Los recuerdos preciosos sonriendo con ustedes,
compartiendo momentos de pena, jugando con los
jóvenes, dando “cinco” a nuestros niños después de Misa,
y orando por ustedes, permanecerán por siempre en mi
corazón.
Gracias por el regalo de invitarme a los momentos
sagrados de pena, dolor y gozo en sus vidas. Gracias por la
oportunidad de servir a los más confiados y llenos de fe de
nuestra parroquia a la Juventud y Jóvenes Adultos. Invertir
en la fe de nuestros niños es una de las claves esenciales
para mantener a nuestra parroquia joven en su centro y
entusiasmo por su misión.
A la juventud y Jóvenes Adultos, gracias por confiar
en Jesucristo y por amar su fe Católica. Recuerden siempre
que su hambre exaltada por lo que es bueno, santo y
divertido se encuentra profundamente en las enseñanzas
de vida de su Fe Católica, y sostenida a través de la
Eucaristía y Reconciliación. La única manera que podemos
cambiar el mundo, es teniendo más santos. No tengan
miedo; ustedes son la luz del mundo.
Gracias por compartir, confiar y amar el sacerdocio
de Cristo. Mientras que muchos buenos sacerdotes cruzan
por sus caminos, nunca olviden que su fe por Jesucristo es
el regalo más apreciado que debe perdurar siempre. Y
espero que mi ministerio en San Francisco nos haya
ayudado a ustedes y a mí a estar un poco más cerca de
Jesucristo.

Faith Formation Registration for the 2012-2013 year
is currently open for all parishioners. We are still in
need of many Catechists, Aides, Team Leaders and
Nursery Volunteers for the 2012-13 year. It takes
500 dedicated volunteers to make our Faith Formation Program successful as we serve approximately
2300 students each year. Needs are listed on our
website, under the Faith Formation page. Please
