THANKS ALL AROUND
Thanks to Joyce Egler, Vonnie Rivers, and Freddie Schick
for organizing our recent successful bake sale. Thanks
also go to the many bakers who provided all those
wonderful baked items, the many workers, and all those
who purchased baked goods. Who’s counting calories!
We will be back again in November.
FOURTH OF JULY BULLETIN DEADLINE
All bulletin articles need to be submitted by no later
than Tuesday, July 1st.
PREGNANCY HELP CENTER
THANK YOU TO ST. THOMAS
Thank you for your incredible generosity during our
recent Baby Bottle Drive. Your contributions enable us
to continue to offer life affirming love and support to
any woman facing a difficult or unplanned pregnancy.
We are here to help. If you have a bottle, even it is
empty, please return it to the church office during work
hours. This allows us to reuse the bottles and reduces
our expenses. Thank you.
WOMEN’S GUILD JUNE PROGRAM CHANGE
Due to an out-of-town scheduling conflict which has just
arisen, Cardinal Rigali has had to cancel his evening visit
and event at St. Thomas for Monday, June 23rd. The
Women’s Guild will change their meeting back to the
regular time of 9 a.m., immediately following the 8:30
a.m. morning Mass on Monday, June 23rd. We are very
fortunate to have Stu and Jan McFadden, representing
NPH (Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos), present their
program; the topic will be “Giving your Heart and
Support to the Kids of NPH”. Please mark the change to
your calendar and join us for an informative meeting
and slide show presentation.

MAINTENANCE COLLECTION IN JUNE
In June, we are having our annual collection for parish
maintenance needs. This year’s collection will be used
to help pay for our new maintenance building. Upon
receiving excellent feedback on our drawings, minor
changes to the design were made, resulting in a
projected cost of $40,000.
We are grateful for your support of the Capital
Collection in January which fully funded our new
security system. However, that collection was not
sufficient to pay for the maintenance building.
Please prayerfully consider donating to this year’s
maintenance collection. If you are an envelope user, you
have an envelope in your June supply. If you would like
to give online, you may do so by going to the Maintenance
Fund giving opportunity on the WeShare site which is
accessible from our website, www.sthomaslc.com
PETER’S PENCE COLLECTION
Please be generous on June 29th in contributing to the
Peter’s Pence Collection that assists the Holy Father
with his charitable works. Your donations help the Holy
Father to respond with emergency financial assistance
to the neediest and most disadvantaged throughout the
world—especially those who suffer as a result of war,
oppression, and natural disasters. Your contributions
will be combined with those of Catholics from around
the world to help the Holy Father reach out to the
voiceless and most vulnerable in need.
NOVEMBER, 2014 BALLOT QUESTION
ON ABORTION
In November, Amendment 1 will state:
Nothing in this Constitution secures or protects
a right to abortion or requires the funding of an
abortion. The people retain the right through
their elected state representatives and state
senators to enact, amend, or repeal statutes
regarding abortion, including, but not limited to,
circumstances of pregnancy resulting from rape
or incest or when necessary to save the life of
the mother.
Because of a radical 4 to 1 ruling by the Tennessee
Supreme Court in 2000, TN now boasts a broader right
to abortion than that recognized by Roe v. Wade or the
U.S. Constitution. In 2008, 23.7% of abortions were
sought by women residing out-of-state. "YES on 1" is a
non-profit pro-life group that is helping to spread the
word and educate TN residents about this important
ballot measure. Please look for future information
about this in the bulletin. www.yeson1tn.org
VOTE YES on Amendment One!!!!!!

Roe v.
