To close our year with a golden bow,
for our “New Years” event, we received a diverse group from Norway,
United Kingdom, Honduras, USA and
Mexico. We received 2016 with a fun
party and an amazing fireworks show.
Para cerrar el Año con broche de oro
para nuestro evento de “Año Nuevo”
recibimos un grupo mixto de Noruega,
Reino Unido, Honduras, Estados Unidos
y México, dimos inicio al año 2016 con
una divertida fiesta y fuegos pirotécnicos que fueron la delicia de todos.
From February 5th to the 11th, The
Friends of Nuestra Cabaña had their
annual meeting, where they made
their traditional auction (which was
a big success). They projected and
planned their work for 2016, they
welcomed their new members and
recognized other for their job over the
last 25 years.
Del 5 al 11 de febrero Las Amigas de
Nuestra Cabaña tuvieron su reunión
anual, en la que su tradicional subasta fue todo un éxito. Proyectaron
y planificaron su trabajo para el año
2016, dieron la bienvenida a nuevos
miembros y reconocieron la trayectoria
de otras de sus miembros durante los
últimos 25 años.

In an event where everyone “Connected” our World thinking Day. We had
150 participants, who shared and celebrated our Sisterhood with activities,
smiles and games. We confirmed that
in Guiding, there are not barriers such
as language or age... Because what
really matters is that we have enough
reasons and the richness of being different but still, be ‘Connected’.
En un evento donde todas nos “Conectamos”, celebramos el Día Mundial del
Pensamiento y con la participación de
150 Guías celebramos nuestra Hermandad y compartimos actividades,
sonrisas y juegos. Corroboramos que
en el Guidismo las barreras no existen,
porque lo que realmente importa es
que tenemos razones suficientes y la
riqueza de ser diferentes, pero aún así
seguir ‘Conectadas’.

Around the World Thinking Day celebrations we inaugurated our new
campfire place, called “Friendship
Circle”. The whole structure because
the whole structure represents the
Guiding movement, its diversity and
willingness to enrich the life of many
girls around the globe. We thank all

Pick & Mix I
For our first “Pick & Mix” event for
2016, we received a Canadian Group
form March 25th to 29th. They designed their own programme and
visited Xochicalco Archeological Site,
Downtown Cuernavaca, Tepoztlán and
“El Rollo” the largest aquatic park of
Latin America, where they got a little
splash into spring, under the hot and
bright Mexican sun.
En Nuestro primer “Pick & Mix” de
2016 recibimos un grupo de Canadá
del 25 al 29 de marzo. Diseñaron su
programa y visitaron el centro arqueológico de Xochicalco, el centro de
Cuernavaca, Tepoztlán y “El Rollo” el
parque acuático más grande de Latinoamérica, donde se sumergieron en
la primavera, bajo el brillante y cálido
sol de México
13 Girl Guides from Wales were welcomed at Nuestra Cabaña, for the 2nd
Pick & Mix of the season. Their main
focus was community service, so they
spend 3 days working with the “DIF
Community” in many different ways
and places. They also did an “internal
service” for Nuestra Cabaña, and as the
result of that we now have a vertical
herbs garden!!!
Nuestra Cabaña dio la bienvenida a
13 Guías de Gales para nuestro segundo “Pick & Mix” del año. Su objetivo
principal fue el servicio comunitario,
trabajaron 3 días con la comunidad
del DIF en diferentes lugares y formas.
También realizaron un servicio a Nuestra Cabaña y como resultado ahora
tenemos un jardín vertical de hierbas
aromáticas!

In February we welcomed Mirelle Rodriguez to Nuestra Cabaña´s team. She
is Mexican and has been involved in
Girl Guiding since she was a little girl,
she even work as a volunteer at Nuestra Cabaña a while ago. We wish her
success in carrying out her job.
A principios de Febrero dimos la bienvenida al equipo de Nuestra Cabaña a
Mirelle Rodríguez. Ella es mexicana y
ha sido guía desde muy pequeña y anteriormente fue voluntaria en Nuestra
Cabaña, le deseamos mucho éxito en
el desempeño de su puesto.

time here help them to be theirselves, that they have enjoyed
their time here and that it is an experience they will never
forget. I love everything about working at Nuestra Cabaña.
My Hobbies are: dancing, listening to music, watching movies,
making people laugh and spending time with my friends and
family.
I am from Venezuela and I have been a Programme
Volunteer since March 2015. Professionally I am a Petrochimical Engineer. On September 2015, I was recommended as the “Lead Programme Volunteer”, to support
the Programme Manager on planning, implementation
and evaluating our events and also in charge of the
“Craft House”.
I like to share the love that I have for this movement
with many Guides from different countries. One of the
things that I like the most of being at Nuestra Cabaña
and why I accepted to be the Programme Assistant since
February 2016, is being told by our participants that their

a la Directora de Programa en la planificación, implementación
y evaluación de nuestros eventos y también quede a cargo del
Taller de artesanías.
Me gusta compartir el amor que tengo por la asociación con
guías de otros países, Una de las cosas que más me gustan de
trabajar en Nuestra Cabaña y por la cual acepté ser la Asistente
de Programa desde 2016 es cuando las participantes nos dicen
que estar aquí les ha ayudado a ser ellas mismas y que es una
experiencia que nunca olvidarán. ¡Me encanta todo!
Mis pasatiempos son: bailar, escuchar música, ver películas, hacer reír a las personas y pasar mi tiempo libre con mis amigos
y familia.

I am Thaís, I am 27 years old and I am from Brazil. I have been a Girl
Guide for 14 years now. During my four months as a volunteer working at Nuestra Cabaña, I hope to grow not only as a person, but also
as a Guide, learn about new cultures, meet new people and be able to
take all (or part thereof) to my group. I hope I can contribute with all
my learnings at my Member Organization at my return home. I’m very
happy to have the opportunity to be here.
Me llamo Thaís, tengo 27 años y soy de Brasil y he sido guía por 14
años. Durante mi estancia en Nuestra Cabaña, espero crecer no solo
en lo personal sino también en el aspecto de Guidismo, conocer nuevas culturas y personas y poder llevar todo lo que aprenda a mi grupo.
Espero poder contribuir con lo que he aprendido en Brasil. Estoy muy
contenta con la oportunidad de estar aquí.
