Dear Friends,
I am delighted to know about this wonderful parish. I understand that
this is a multicultural community of believers, who treasure Jesus
Christ at the center of their faith and practice. It is my joy that I have
been called to serve and give to this great community.
It is clear that the people here have a great desire to worship and to
work together to build up the House of God with the aim of creating a
peaceful and welcoming community of love. You allow me to
appreciate your openness, as you strive to stand up for peace and
justice, especially serving and caring for the hungry, poor and needy,
like TABLE of PLENTY ministry and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
It is also a great joy for me to know of the many ways you contribute
to our church, such as the many boys and girls that are willing to
serve as Altar Servers, to whom I look forward to see on August 4th
at 6pm.
I do not want forget other ministries, like music, Art & Environment,
Knights of Columbus, Movimiento Familiar Cristiano, the Parish Bible
study, Grupo Mariachi, Charismatic, Legion of Mary just to name a
few, as well as, the many volunteers working and praying so generously for our parish.
I am so grateful for your compassion and your commitment. Please
know of my support and prayers.

Estoy encantado de conocer esta maravillosa parroquia. Entiendo
que es una comunidad multicultural de los creyentes, que atesoran a
Jesucristo en el centro de su fe y la práctica. Es para mí un gozo
haber sido llamado a servir y a dar a esta gran comunidad.
Está claro que la gente de aquí tienen un gran deseo de trabajar
juntos para construir la casa de Dios con el objetivo de crear una
comunidad pacífica y acogedora de amor. Ustedes me permiten
apreciar sus esfuerzo por defender la paz y la justicia, sobre todo
servir y cuidar a los pobres y necesitados, como en “Table of Plenty”
ministerio y San Vicente de Paúl. También es una gran alegría para
mí saber de las muchas maneras que contribuyen a nuestra iglesia,
como los muchos niños y niñas que están dispuestos a servir como
monaguillos, a los que espero ver el 4 de agosto a las 6pm. No
quiero olvidar a otros ministerios, como la música, el arte y el Medio
Ambiente, los Caballeros de Colón, Movimiento Familiar Cristiano, el
estudio de la Biblia, Grupo Mariachi, Carismáticos, Legión de María,
sólo para nombrar unos pocos, así como, a los muchos voluntarios
que trabajan con tanta generosidad por nuestra parroquia. Estoy
muy agradecido por su compasión y su compromiso. Por favor,

Lucia’s Farwell
Dear friends of the Parish,
It has been a great experience working for Our Lady of the
Pillar Church. Due to circumstances out of my control, my
family and I have decided to move out of the area. I would like
to say goodbye and to say thanks to you all that have given me
so much love an support.
The Parish Secretary position is now available. I invite you all
to help Fr. Shouraiah in finding the right person to serve our
parish. This is an active and fun position, as well as being one
that is rewarding and spiritually fulfilling — more than I could
have imagined when I applied for it a year ago.
We need somebody skilled and hard-working, as well as kind
and loving with a drive for helping others.
Requirements:
Bilingual, English/Spanish and Portuguese would be a plus.
Bachelor Degree or Work equivalent expertise .
Office skills and computer proficiency are a must.

THEY’RE BACK! Our OLP Missionaries Return
from Isla Mujeres to share their story…
This weekend, August 2nd and 3rd, our own OLP
missionaries (and accomplished OLP Altar Servers) Joe
Kulda, Angelo Novello, and Evan Quirk will be together to
share from their experience of making their way to Isla
Mujeres, east of Cancun, Mexico — and then traveling to
serve the village of Hobompich. Fr. Joshua, Br. Emilio, and
another local priest shared the journey with them. They
arrived June 21st and returned home on July 1st.

from our parish family and we’re looking forward to telling
you all about our trip and showing you pictures of our
memorable experience. We will be in front of church after
Mass, please come by and say hello!”

Ha sido una gran experiencia trabajar para la Iglesia Nuestra
Señora del Pilar, y ahora, debido a circunstancias fuera de mi
control, mi familia y yo decidimos mudarnos del area.
Me gustaría decir adiós y gracias a todos los que me han dado
tanto amor y soporte.
Invito a todos los feligreses a ayudar al Padre Shouraiah a
encontrar la persona indicada para el cargo de secretaria en la
oficina. Esta posición es muy activa y divertida, así como
gratificante y espiritualmente satisfactoria como no pudiera
haber imaginado cuando aplique a ella hace un año.
