Parish Information
Week at a Glance
We plan financially to go on
vacation, we plan financially for the
education of our children, we make
financial plans for our retirement; do
we plan financially to support God’s
work in our parish community? In
gratitude for the gifts we receive from
God, 28% of our registered families
and those visiting made a joyful
return to the Lord to assist in the
support of God’s work in our parish
community. Let’s increase this
participation to 100%.
New Members: We are
delighted to have you join our
parish family! Registration forms are
available in the narthex and in the
parish office. They can be mailed,
turned into the parish office, or dropped
in the collection basket. Come by the
church office for a Welcome Packet.

All St. Matthew women are invited to an Annual Tea on
Saturday, November 14th from 1:00pm- 3:00pm in Hedges
Hall. Come and enjoy time with your Christian Sisters. This
year’s focus is Blessed by Stress and will include a video by
the comedianne Char Vance. This social is lovingly
sponsored by the Women’s Club. Contact Lucinda
Rickards at [email protected] or 770-307-4849 for
questions.
As individual leaf colors blend to make a
statement of awesome beauty, the Holy Spirit
gives us different talents so we may blend as
one to better serve Him. Our talents are not
ours; we are mere channels for using them to
serve others as His stewards and for making
Him visible. You are needed as a steward to
give your talents and time to our biggest Burn
the Mortgage Fundraiser and social event of
the year, the Mardi Gras Ball. There is
something everyone can do to serve. It is
Saturday, February 6, at the Community
Center in Winder. For more information,
contact Shelia at 770-962-0520 or
Lynn at 404-226-6225.

Parish News and Activities
Thank you very much for your
participation in the food drive. You
did outstanding. Our pantry is pretty
well stocked today but it goes out
fast. In September we fed 15
families and 55 hungry mouths. We are always
looking for “disciples” to help in our ministry.
Our next meeting is Thursday Nov. 12 at 7PM in
Hedges Hall. Our help line number is
770-868-5100 Monday thru Thursday.
Life Teen is participating in the
Cardboard City Retreat
November 7-8!
Teens will have the opportunity to see what it is like to live
homeless for one night while exploring God's call to follow
his word. You can support the work of these young
members of our parish by providing canned goods and
donations at each of the masses that weekend for St.
Vincent De Paul. We request your prayers for this group of
teens and their leaders that they may hear God's word and
have a safe, productive retreat.
