Kaclik reaches milestone

rove City senior
tailback Shane Kaclik (Mars, Pa./Mars) was
selected to the First Team
All-Presidents’ Athletic
Conference. Kaclik led
the conference in rushing
yards (1,098) and yards from
scrimmage (1,218) in 2012.
The senior tailback scored
a league-best 15 rushing
touchdowns and finished second
overall in the conference with
90 points.
He became the third Grove
City back to run for 1,000
yards in a season, joining
Doug Steiner (1996-97) and
R.J. Bowers (1997-2000).
His 1,098 yards rank sixth
on Grove City’s all-time
single-season r u s h i n g l i s t .
Kaclik was voted Team
MVP, as well as Offensive
MVP, by his teammates.

Four earn CoSIDA Academic All-District; Gibbs All-American

unior free safety Joe Diani (West Leechburg, Pa./Leechburg), junior cornerback Chris Gibbs (Akron, Ohio/Revere), sophomore
wingback Sam Ivan (Whitehouse, Ohio/Toledo Christian) and junior wide receiver Anthony Ritchie (Big Rock, Ill./Wheaton
Academy) all earned Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition and advanced to the nationwide CoSIDA Academic
All-America ballot. Gibbs was selected to the Academic All-America Second Team.
Chris Gibbs was a three-year starter in Grove City’s defensive backfield starting all 10 games. He was
second on the team with 68 tackles, and six pass breakups. Gibbs maintains a 3.92 GPA as a molecular
biology/pre-med major. In addition to being named to the Dean’s List with Distinction and to the
conference’s Academic Honor Roll, he is also a Presidential Scholarship recipient.
A three-year letterman and two-year starter at safety, Joe Diani led the team with five interceptions
while also compiling 41 tackles in 2012. He also served as the Wolverines’ punter. Diani owns a 3.69
GPA in mathematics, is a Dean’s List student, has been named to the PAC’s Academic Honor Roll, is a
Presidential Scholarship recipient and has been inducted into the Kappa Mu Epsilon math honorary.
Lettering after his first two seasons, Sam Ivan served as a starting wingback in the Wolverine
backfield. He boasts a 3.71 GPA as a molecular biology/pre-med major, a Dean’s List honoree and has
also earned a spot on the PAC Academic Honor Roll. Ivan is a Presidential Scholarship and Trustee
Scholarship recipient.
Anthony Ritchie, the three-year letter winner, led Grove City with 43 receptions for 488 yards,
caught eight touchdowns and returned punts for the Wolverines. Ritchie holds a 3.49 GPA in mechanical
engineering, is a Dean’s List student and has been named to the PAC’s Academic Honor Roll.
