Thanksgiving Prayer
O God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember
those who have no home at all…
Help me to destroy my complacency;
bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help,
by word and deed,
those who cry out
for what we take for granted.
—Samuel F. Pugh

STEWARDSHIP OF TREASURE
STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT—The readings today speak of the
end of the world and the coming of the Kingdom. The U.S.
Bishops’ Pastoral on stewardship says clearly “that ‘life to
come’ is in continuity with the present life through the
human goods, the worthy human purposes, which people
foster now.” May our good stewardship cause us to be
numbered among the chosen on the last day!

SEVEN ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF PARISH LIFE
#3: WORD
God’s Word was made visible in Jesus Christ and is
made visible to us through the Word of God or Scriptures
as well as learning about our faith in a variety of ways.
“Catechesis” means the ways we hand down the faith.
This can be done in a variety of ways: CCD, RCIA,
preparation for all the sacraments, renewals, retreats,
and Sunday homilies. By learning more about our faith
we deepen and strengthen that faith and become more
enthusiastic followers of Jesus. How strong are our
religious education programs in Christ, The Good
Shepherd Parish?
Come and be part of the Parish Assembly on
Saturday, January 26, 2013, from 11:00am to 3:30pm.
Siete Elementos Esenciales de la Vida Parroquial
#3: PALABRA
