BAPTISMS: To register your baby for baptism, pick up Saint
Cecilia’s baptismal requirements at the Parish Office. Arrange for interview and registration for baptismalClasses
for Parents and Godparents at least one month in advance.
Children 7 years of age and older ust participate in Religious
Education Program before being baptized.
BAUTISMOS: Para inscribir a su hijo/a para el bautismo,

ADORATION ON THE THIRD FRIDAY OF THE
MONTH: We have opened up adoration of the
Blessed Sacrament every third Friday of the month
from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. All are invited to come and
worship the Lord present in the Blessed Sacrament.

PARISH GROUPS: The parish pastoral council is
working on a schedule to give every group in the
parish an opportunity to present themselves to the
whole parish – we are asking the leaders to starting
working with their members for a summary of what
the group does, when they meet and the requirements
for anyone who wants to join them. Dates for
presentation will be announced in the future bulletins.
THE PRESENTATION OF THE
LORD: Today we have a special mass at
7:00pm in which will bless all the
children of the parish and infant Jesus. It
is also the mass in which we bless the candles that are
used at home for prayer and devotion.
SAINT BLAISE, BISHOP AND
MARTYR: We will have a special mass
on Monday, February 3rd with the
Blessing of Throats at 7:00pm. Through
the intercession of Saint Blaise, bishop and martyr,
may God deliver you from every disease of the throat
and from every other illness: in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
CARDINAL’S APPEAL 2014: I am sure we have all
received our letter in the mail for the cardinal’s appeal
for 2014. Our goal here at Saint Cecilia this year is
twenty two thousand dollars ($22,000.00). We need
to work together without sacrificing the maintenance
of our parish in trying to reach our goal. Soon we shall
be work on our in-pew solicitation for the appeal.
Annual Archdiocesean Black History Month Mass
at St. Patrick's Cathedral : Sunday, February 2, 2014
Most Reverend J. Terry Steib, SVD, Bishop of
Memphis will be the Principal Celebrant and guest
homilist of this year’s Black History Month Mass at
St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The mass will begin at 2:00pm
- all are welcome.
MARIAN GROUPS: I am asking all the leaders of
the different Marian groups in the parish to be ready
for a general meeting in February. I want to discuss the
month of the rosary and their participation – date to be
announced in the future bulletins.
LENTEN FISH FRY: We will begin selling the
Lenten Fish Fry on Saturday, March 8th, March 15th,
March 29th and our final date will be on Saturday,
April 5th. The doors will open at 12:00pm – please
spread the word around and have lunch at Saint Cecilia
Parish Hall.
Food Sale: We will have a food sale after every mass
on Sunday, February 8. Come and enjoy alcapureas,
pastilellos, chicken soup, coffee, cake, and coffee.
Atlantic City: Come and try your luck in Atlantic City
on Saturday, March 1. The cost is $36/person, we're
waiting for the hotel and cash return. If you are

Alter Server Meeting: There will be an important
meeting for ALL Alter Servers, new and current
servers, on Sunday, February 15 at 1:00 pm in the
church with Fr. Peter & Deacon Jose.
Permission slips will also be distributed for the current
servers who have signed-up for the February 22 snow
tub trip.

GRUPOS PARROQUIALES: El consejo pastoral de
la parroquia está trabajando en un programa para dar a
cada grupo en la parroquia la oportunidad de
presentarse ante toda la parroquia - les estamos
pidiendo a los líderes a comenzar a trabajar con sus
miembros para un resumen de lo que hace el grupo,
cuando se reúnen y los requisitos para todos los que
quieran unirse a ellos. Las fechas de presentación se
darán a conocer en los futuros los boletines.
Venta de comida: Tendremos una venta de
comida después de cada misa el domingo, 8 de
febrero. Venga y disfrute de alcapurrias,
pastelillos, sopa de pollo, biscochos y café.
Atlantic City: Ven y prueba tu suerte en Atlantic City
el sábado, 1 de marzo. El costo es de $ 36/persona,
estamos esperando para el hotel y dinero en cambio

LA PRESENTACIÓN DEL
SEÑOR: Hoy, Domingo, 2 de
febrero, tenemos una misa especial
a las 7:00 pm en la que se bendice a
todos los niños de la parroquia y las imágenes
del niño Jesús. Es también la misa en que
bendecimos las velas que se utilizan en el país
para la oración y la devoción.
San Blas, obispo y mártir:
Tendremos una misa especial el
lunes, 3 de febrero, con la
Bendición de las gargantas a las
7:00 pm. Por la intercesión de San Blas, obispo
y mártir, que Dios te libre de todas las
enfermedades de la garganta y de todas las
demás enfermedades: en el nombre del Padre,
y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo.
PESCADO FRITO EN CUARESMA: Vamos a
comenzar a vender pescado frito durante la Cuaresma
el sábado, 8 de marzo de 15 de marzo, 29 de marzo
y nuestra fecha final será el sábado 5 de abril. Las
puertas se abrirán a las 12:00 pm - Por favor,
difundir la palabra alrededor y almorzar en el salón
parroquial de Santa Cecilia
Reunión con los servidores de altar: Habrá una
reunión importante para los servidores del Altar,
servidores nuevos y actuales, el domingo 15 de
febrero a la 1:00pm en la iglesia con el Padre. Peter
& El Diácono José.
Las hojas de permiso también se distribuirán por los
servidores actuales que han firmado para el viaje a la
bañera de nieve para el 22 de febrero.
APELACIÓN DEL CARDENAL DEL 2014: Estoy
seguro de que todos hemos recibido nuestra carta en el
correo para la apelación del cardenal para 2014.
Nuestro objetivo en Santa Cecilia de este año es de
veinte y dos mil dólares ($ 22,000.00). Tenemos que
trabajar juntos sin sacrificar el mantenimiento de
nuestra parroquia para tratar de llegar a nuestra meta.
Pronto vamos a ser un trabajo en nuestra solicitud en la
parroquia para la apelación.
GRACIAS: Sinceramente queremos dar las gracias a
Luis Vargas y Roberto Rodríguez por la donación de
tiempo y experiencia en reparar la cocina de la
rectoría que necesitaba muchas reparaciones y pintura.

equipo que se aseguró de que la cocina estuviera
