MADRID AND SURROUNDINGS
DURATION: 7 DAY / 6 NIGHTS
PRICE: FROM 899 EURO PER STUDENT
INCLUDES:
o Transportation to and from the Madrid airport, in private coach.
o Six (6) nights at a four-star hotel in Madrid, breakfast included.
o Three (3) lunches (1 in El Escorial, 1 in Toledo and 1 in Segovia).
o Four (4) dinners in Madrid.
o Madrid-El Escorial day trip, in private coach.
o Madrid–Toledo day trip, in private coach.
o Madrid-Segovia trip, in private coach
o An Activity Pack for every two (2) students with questions and activities related to the
visit.

DAY 1. ARRIVAL IN MADRID AND TOUR OF THE HISTORIC CENTER
o Transportation from the airport to the hotel
o Tour of Madrid historic area (subject to change): Puerta del Sol, Calle Mayor, Plaza
Mayor, Mercado de San Miguel, Palacio Real, Jardines de Sabatini, Plaza de España,
Gran Vía, Plaza de Cibeles, Puerta de Alcalá y Plaza de Neptuno.
o Dinner in Madrid.
o Night in Madrid
DAY 2. EL ESCORIAL MONASTERY AND THE PRADO MUSEUM.
MORNING:
o Departure from Madrid (9:00 am) to El Escorial Monastery
o Tour of the El Escorial Monastery.
o Lunch in El Escorial.
o Return to Madrid.
AFTERNOON:
o Visit to the Prado Museum.
o Dinner in Plaza de Santa Ana and night walk through the Barrio de las Letras (where
Lope de Vega, Góngora and Quevedo resided) quarter.
o Night in Madrid.
DAY 3 MADRID - SCHOOL VISIT
MORNING:
o Visit to a school. Students will spend a morning at a Spanish school, sharing
experiences with their Spanish peers. Together with their teachers they will have the
opportunity to learn more about the Spanish educational system.
Afternoon:
o FREE
o Night in Madrid.
DAY 4 TOLEDO: TOURING THE THREE CULTURES
MORNING:
o Departure from Madrid at 8:00 am, arriving in Toledo at 9:00 am; walking tour
through Toledo’s historic center. We will visit
Puerta Vieja de Bisagra, Exterior de la Iglesia de Santiago del Arrabal, Puerta Nueva
de Bisagra, Puerta del Sol, Mezquita del Cristo de la Luz, Catedral de Santa María.
o Lunch in Toledo.
AFTERNOON:
o Walking tour. We will visit:
Iglesia del Salvador, Iglesia de Santo Tomé and El entierro del señor de Orgaz
painting by El Greco, Sinagoga del Tránsito, Sinagoga Santa María la Blanca,
Monasterio de San Juan de los Reyes.
o Departure from el Puente de San Martín to Madrid at 7:30pm.
o Dinner in Madrid in the popular La Latina quarter.
o Night in Madrid.
DAY 5 MADRID. FREE TIME
Night in Madrid.
DAY 6 SEGOVIA
MORNING:
o Departure from Madrid at 8:00am, arriving in Segovia at 9:00am; walking tour
through Segovia’s historic center. We will visit:
Iglesia de los Santos Justo y Pastor, Acueducto romano, Iglesia de San Martín,
Antigua Sinagoga Mayor, Plaza Mayor.
o Lunch in Segovia.
AFTERNOON:
o Walking tour. We will visit:
Catedral, Alcázar Real, Iglesia de la Vera Cruz.
o Departure to Madrid at 8:00 am.
o Dinner in Madrid.
o Night in Madrid.
DAY 7 RETURN TRIP
MORNING:
o Transportation from the hotel to –the Madrid airport.
o Flight back to Philadelphia.
