ST. PETER PARISH ROSARY NOVENA OCTOBER 7 – 15TH
October is the month of the Rosary because of the anniversary of the victory at
the Battle at Lepanto and the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, both occurring in
October. October 1917 is the month that Our Lady of Fatima last appeared to
the shepherd children, Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco and the Miracle of the Sun
took place.
The Legion of Mary at St. Peter Parish invites all parishioners to join us in praying a
novena of the Rosary from October 7th to October 15th. No need to leave your
house. You can pray the rosary in your own home, at a time that is convenient
for you. Rosaries will be available in the vestibule and O’Brien Hall for anyone
needing one.
The feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, October 7th, is held in memory of the
glorious and triumphant victory at the Battle of Lepanto in 1571. Although ten
military victories have occurred through praying the Rosary, beginning in
St. Dominic's time up through modern times, that battle was the most convincing
military victory that proved without a doubt the great power of the Rosary.
In honor of the victory, Pope Pius V instituted the Feast of Our Lady of Victory,
which is still celebrated today as the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. In 1883,
Pope Leo XIII officially dedicated the month of October to the Holy Rosary.

Octubre es el mes del Rosario, por el aniversario de la victoria en la batalla en
Lepanto y la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, ocurriendo en Octubre.
Octubre 1917 es también el ultimo mes que nuestra Señora de Fátima se
apareció a los niños pastores Lucia, Jacinto y Francisco y se ocurro El Milagro
del Sol.
La Legión de María en la parroquia de San Pedro invita a todos los miembros
unirse a nosotros en oración en la novena del Rosario desde Octubre 7 a
Octubre 15. No hay necesidad de dejar su casa. Usted puede rezar el Rosario
en su propio hogar, a una hora que es conveniente para usted. Rosarios
estarán disponibles en la iglesia y en el salón O’Brien para quienes lo necesiten.
La fiesta de Nuestra Señora del Santo Rosario, Octubre 7, se toma en memoria
de la gloriosa y triunfante victoria en la batalla de Lepanto en 1571. Aunque
diez victorias militares han ocurrido a través del rezo del rosario, comenzando
en el tiempo de Santo Domingo hasta tiempos modernos, esa batalla fue la
victoria militar más convinciente que probó sin duda alguna el gran poder del
Rosario.
En honor a la victoria, El Papa Pio V instituyo la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de la
Victoria, cual todavía es celebrada hoy como la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora del
Rosario. En 1883, el Papa Leo XIII oficialmente dedico el mes de Octubre al
Santo Rosario.
