Del Escritorio del Párroco…
We live in an era where people, in an effort
to encounter hope, to look for happiness, to
encounter the divine, look in all kinds of
places. Millions are made on industries
involving divination, the reading of cards,
prophesies of the future, palm reading,
astrology and so forth. Many, have a desire
to see what is in store for them. People live in
fear.
Do we have reasons to feel that way? In the past we
have seen crimes taking place in countries like Africa
in light of apartheid. We know about the constant and
mutual attacks among Catholics and Protestants in
Ireland. We have seen terrible injustices between the
State of Israel and the Palestine nation and we are
aware of the great conflict in the Middle East. Nations
are starving and have been ravished by natural
disasters. People live in fear.
But without undermining our current situation we must
realize that the world has always been in turmoil since
God gave us the gift of free will, which misused can be
a source of injustice, fear and pain. We see on this
Sunday’s gospel how Jesus foretells the destruction of
the temple of Jerusalem and even announce the
persecutions of those first believers whose blood shall
be shed as the first martyrs.
Within the turmoil, the tensions and conflicts of our
time, both worldly and personal, we are called to be
ready. This Sunday’s message is one of preparation and
hope. We must be prepared for the day that we will
stand trial on Christ’s arrival in light of how we lived
our lives. Our salvation relies, first in the mercy of
God, and secondly in our relationship with Him in the
present, in the here and now. Our future happiness is
contingent on our present efforts to turn to God and
live in His Spirit. Our hope and comfort arises when
we realize that whatever the future holds, by way of
disappointment, human brokenness or personal failure
is the Lord the one who is in control and will not
abandon His people. Therefore, our hope is in the Lord
because we are His people.
No matter how dark the future seems or how
abandoned we may feel at a certain time, God longs for
us to be saved. Today we humbly call on Him as we
remind our God of the promises He made to us through
Moses; “I am your God and you shell be my people.”
My dear community of St. Aloysius, hold on to God’s
promises. Fear not and let us simply trust in the Lord.
Vivimos en una era donde varias personas, en un
deseo por encontrar esperanza, la felicidad o un
encuentro con lo divino intentan encontrarlos en
todo tipo de lugar. Millones de dólares se han
hecho en las industrias que envuelven el arte de
adivinación, la lectura de las cartas, profecías del
futuro, la lectura de la palma de la mano, los astros
y demás. El mundo vive en el temor.
¿Tenemos razones para sentirnos de esa manera?
En el pasado hemos visto crímenes llevados a cabo en
países como África a la luz del apartheid. Sabemos sobre
la constante violencia entre Católicos y Protestantes en
Irlanda. Hemos visto terrible injusticas cometidas entre el
Estado de Israel y la Nación Palestina y todos estamos
conscientes del gran conflicto con el Medio Oriente. En
varias naciones vemos países acosados por el hambre y
los desastres naturales. El mundo vive en el temor.
Pero sin minimizar la actual situación del mundo
debemos darnos cuenta de que el mundo siempre ha
estado en crisis desde que Dios le dio a ser humano el don
del libre albedrío, el cual erróneamente utilizado puede
ser origen a la injustica, temor y dolor. Vemos en el
evangelio de este domingo como Jesús predice la
destrucción del templo de Jerusalén e inclusive anuncia la
persecución de los primeros creyentes cuya sangre seria
derramada como testimonio de los primeros mártires.
Dentro de estas crisis, los temores y conflictos de nuestro
tiempo, ambos mundiales y personales, estamos llamados
a estar listos. El mensaje de este domingo es uno de
preparación y esperanza. Debemos estar preparados para
el día en que nos presentemos a la venida de Cristo a la
luz de lo que hicimos. Nuestra salvación depende
primeramente en la misericordia de Dios y segundo en
nuestra relación con El en el presente, en el aquí y en el
ahora. Nuestra felicidad futura está ligada a nuestro
presente esfuerzo de acercarnos a Dios y vivir en su
Espíritu. Nuestra esperanza y consuelo se basa en que
independientemente lo que nos suceda en el futuro ya sea
consecuencia de nuestras desilusiones, miserias internas o
fracasos personales, es Dios quien está en control y El no
abandona a los suyos. Luego entonces, reconocemos que
nuestra esperanza está en el Señor porque somos su
pueblo.
Sin importar cuan oscuro se pueda percibir nuestro futuro
o cuan abandonados nos podamos sentir en ciertos,
momentos Dios simplemente quiere que nos salvemos.
Hoy llamamos al nombre del Señor y le recordamos las
promesas que nos hizo a través de Moisés; “Yo seré su
Dios y ustedes serán mi pueblo”. Mi querida comunidad
de San Luis Gonzaga, sosténganse de las promesas de
nuestro Padre Dios. No teman y simplemente confíen en
nuestro Creador.

Today Sunday November 13 we will have our
drawing of $200. We will have bi-weekly
drawings of $200 prize.
 We will have a GRAND PRIZE of $2,500
DOLLARS on Sunday, December 11!
 You could win ALL FOUR PRIZES, because
every time we draw a winner, their name goes
back into the raffle.
Of course, the only way to win is by buying a
ticket. You can pick up or buy your tickets at the
parish rectory.
The raffle is our most important fund-raiser for
paying our regular bills. We ask every family to try
and buy or sell at least 10 tickets and as many more
as possible. Each ticket is $10 and includes as many
as 4 chances to win (if you buy them before October
30).
Help us reach our goal of $15,000! We know we can
count on each and every one of you.

United States by funding
organizations that help
individuals help themselves.

$200. Los sorteos serán cada otra semana con un
premio de $200.
 Tendremos un GRAN PREMIO de $2,500
DÓLARES el ¡Domingo, 11 de Diciembre!
 Puede ganar TODOS LOS CUATRO PREMIOS,
debido a que cada vez que escogemos un ganador, su

THIRTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS
The Lord's Peace be with you!
As you probably know by now, we the people have exercised
the right to vote, and a result have elected Donald Trump as the
45th President of the United States of America. While this
election’s results has many people anxiously worried about
what is to come, it is wise for us to remember that God is
ultimately in control, and that even “The Donald” must bow
down to the Almighty and Everlasting Lord of the Universe.
This Sunday’s Responsorial Psalm: “The Lord comes to rule
the earth with justice”, gives us the assurance that-as Bob
Marley sang-“…everything’s gonna be all-right”. Both Saint
Paul in his second letter to the Thessalonians, and Jesus in the
Gospel of Luke provide us with the proper response and
antidote to the world’s many future troubles. Saint Paul asks
that (we) avoid living in a disorderly manner, and that we focus
on doing the good work with which we have been entrusted.
And Jesus instructs us to not be deceived or terrified, but to
boldly give testimony, and persevere in our faith. This
Sunday’s readings therefore, lay out for us the recipe to follow
which leads us to the rich heavenly banquet.

¡La Paz del Señor esté con ustedes!
Como probablemente ya saben, hemos como pueblo ejercido
nuestro derecho al voto, la cual ha resultado en la elección de
Donald Trump como el 45 º Presidente de los Estados Unidos de
América. Mientras que el resultado de estas elecciones tiene a
muchas personas ansiosamente preocupado por lo que está por
venir, nos conviene recordar que en última instancia es Dios
quien está en control y que incluso "El Donald" debe inclinarse
ante el Todopoderoso y Eterno Señor del Universo. El Salmo
Responsorial de este Domingo: "El Señor viene a gobernar la
tierra con justicia," nos da la certeza de que - como cantaba Bob
Marley-“…everything’s gonna be all-right” (…todo estará
bien). Tanto San Pablo en su segunda carta a los Tesalonicenses,
como Jesús en el Evangelio de San Lucas nos proporcionan la
respuesta correcta y el antídoto para los muchos problemas
futuros del mundo. San Pablo nos pide que evitemos vivir de
una manera desordenada, y que nos concentremos en hacer bien
el trabajo con el cual se nos ha encomendado. Y Jesús nos
instruye a no vivir engañado o aterrorizado, estar en todo
momento dispuesto a dar testimonio y perseverar en nuestra fe.
Las lecturas de este Domingo por lo tanto, brindan para nosotros
la receta a seguir la cual nos conduce al rico banquete celestial.
¡Qué Dios les bendiga!

volunteer opportunities. This is a great time to meet,
serve and love others by sharing your time, talent, and
passion.

 Food deliveries; unload, sort, stock and various dates.
 Thanksgiving basket distribution (11/22/16).

Homeless Dinner; crowd control, set-up, set-down, cleanup crew, servers, decorators, etc.

Muchos de nuestros feligreses igual que los que
busca ayuda de nuestro Dispensario, no tienen familia
o amistades viviendo en esta área. También les
invitamos a cenar con nosotros en el Día de Acción de
Gracias. Una deliciosa comida cocinada y servida con
gran amor, ¡Y nos encantaría tenerle allí! Si conoce a
alguien que necesita un lugar para celebrar el Día de
Acción de Gracias, por favor les pido que llame a
