A Meeting of the Minds An Early Psychosis Intervention Education Event for Families and Providers ENCUENTRO DE MENTES: Evento de Intervencion Temprana para Familias y Proveedores de Servicios About the Event This event aims to bring together members of the Hispanic community with mental health service providers to share information about early psychosis intervention. While mental illness strikes members of every community, irrespective of ethno-cultural, religious, or socio-economic background, research shows that certain groups may experience elevate risks and poorer access to treatment. Why Your Attendance is Important This event is for families and providers to: Increase awareness about mental health among Spanish speaking communities Respond to the community’s expressed mental health information and support needs Encourage dialogue within the community to promote mental health and reduce stigma. Guest Speakers: Dr. Sam Packer Physician Leader for the Early Intervention in Psychosis at Humber River Regional Hospital and an Associate Professor at University of Toronto.
