Brothers and Sisters, today we continue with our session on the
Catholic Moral Dress Code article.
Continued….
Many women will say they wear the modern fashions because they are more
comfortable, and the weather is hot (Remember, it is very hot in Hell). This brings us
to the area of sports. Regrettably, all to many sports are taboo for us Catholics, not that
they are in themselves a sin or a near occasion of sin, but because of the skimpy attire
that such sports “require”. Think of these sports and the clothes people usually wear
when playing the following sports or activities: swimming, baton twirling, tennis,
basketball, dancing (disco dancing and little girls who take dancing lessons) and
gymnastics. Let us take swimming for an example, since people usually wear less
clothes when swimming than any other sport. Swimsuits have no sleeves, have very
low necklines, no coverings for the legs and usually has the whole back exposed. When
we think of the saying, “in proportion to the amount of flesh exposed mortal sin seems
to increase”, shouldn’t we avoid the bathing suits like the plague? Do you think this
suggestion is crazy? You say yes, then let us ask another question. Do you prefer to
have the mortal sin of immodesty on your shoulders and the untold number of mortal
sins of being a temptress or tempter and causing others to sin?
One might say that our little girls can’t do anything. You are wrong, because if you
modify the costumes and attire that the girls wear, in most cases they can still
participate if you are Catholic enough to stand up for the proper moral dress code. In
addition to the modifications, our girls can go bicycle riding and horse back riding if
they have a full skirt and the skirt reaches at least to the middle of the calf; and, of
course, skating can be done in a skirt. Our girls should be pursuing lady-like activities
and hobbies, which will prepare them for marriage and their proper role as mother and
wife. They should be learning to sew, embroider, knit, crochet, cook, make rosaries,
sing good Catholic songs and other decent, patriotic songs, play musical instrumental,
paint and draw. Above all they should be learning to talk, dress, sit, walk, stand, kneel,
stoop and act like a lady at all times. Our girls have many options open to them, if they
will only pursue them in moral decent manner.
We are all born with a fallen nature and, consequently, we must keep our bodies
covered in order to avoid the dangers of concupiscence. This fact, as result of original
sin, is deliberately ignored each time that naturalism attempts to insinuate itself into our
Christian customs. Then it is that the purpose of clothing is lost sight of, and instead of
being an invitation to virtue, it becomes an incitement to sin. The Church, like a
vigilant Mother, full of tender care for the holiness and eternal salvation of Her
children, has often been obliged to warn the faithful so that the might avoid the errors
of fashion, and to take the measures necessary to ensure that the holy places and sacred
things should not be profaned by immodesty in dress.

Hermanos y Hermanas, hoy continuamos con la sesión del articulo de Modestia y el
Pudor en nuestro vestir….
El pudor es además la conciencia que tenemos de la propia intimidad, de que la sexualidad
humana es la sede, la morada, de un misterio que no puede ser desvelado a cualquiera, de
ahí que naturalmente rechace el mostrar lo que debe permanecer velado. “Existe un pudor
instintivo, ligado a la constitución psicológica del hombre y por tanto universal, que se
manifiesta como sentimiento de miedo, de vergüenza, ligado de algún modo a la emoción
sexual.”
La castidad y la virginidad siempre exigirán al pudor como aliado y guardián. Lo
necesitaran como un radar que detectara y las protegerá de los peligros. Ambas virtudes
necesitaran de la virtud del pudor para generar el clima propicio “para protegerse”. El
pudor, a su vez, necesitara de la pequeña virtud de la modestia como aliada, que le indicara
los primeros pasos que no deben dares para no caer.
“El pudor en cubrir el propio cuerpo se tiene en posesión que no esta disponible para nadie
mas que para uno mismo. Que no se esta dispuesto a compartirlo con todo el mundo y que,
por consiguiente, se esta en condiciones de entregarlos a una persona (el cónyuge) o de no
entregarlo a nadie”.
Este debería ser el sentido por el cual la desnudez de su novia o su mujer no debería serle
indiferente al novio o al esposo. Porque si ella pudorosamente se posee a si misma será
para entregarse a su propio marido, mientras que si se desnuda fácilmente o circula semidesnuda ante los extraños esta tácitamente convocando “a mas” a todos los demás, lo cual
desde siempre fue una actitud solo reservada a la prostitución. Si los hombres se mantienen
fieles a su naturaleza, la desnudes femenina los tiene que conmover. Si no se conmueven,
ni con la mujer propia, ni con la ajena, Habrá que alarmarse. (Esto no significa que deban
tratar de conmoverse con quien no es su legitima mujer.)
Los mandamientos sexto y noveno fueron dados por Dios (tanto a hombres como a
mujeres) para contribuir a que las personas sean mas dueñas de si mismas en el recto uso
del sexo, ayudándolas a ordenarse, a elevarse y preservar las sanas costumbres de los
pueblos. De ahí que educar en el sentido del pudor signifique educar en el resguardo de la
propia intimidad, del modo de vestir, del modo de hablar, de la modestia de los gestos y los
movimientos corporales. Una conciencia bien formada, serena, vigilante, equilibrada y
consciente de las consecuencias de sus actos, defenderá la dignidad e intimidad del hombre
en una actitud de respeto, no solo hacia el propio cuerpo, sino hacia el de los demás. De lo
contrario, despreciando estos do mandamientos, los hechos nos demuestran que las
personas se embrutecen y se degradan peor que las bestias, ya que el ser humano es el
único ser creado que puede vivir debajo de su condición. Los animales, por ejemplo, no
pueden. La vaca nace como vaca , crece como vaca, se desarrolla como vaca y muere como
vaca. No puede ni elevarse ni degradarse debajo de su condición de vaca como fue
creada…

How should we dress to come
to church in the summer?
We ask that you be mindful with the dress
code when coming to the House of the
Lord. Although it is very hot out now, we
ask that you refrain from wearing shorts
and sleeveless shirts/blouses as well as
low cut clothing. We must show reverence
to our Lord and our neighbor. Modesty and
respect above all.
Llega el Calor! Como vestimos para
ir a la Iglesia durante el verano?
Pedimos prestar atención al modo de vestir
cuando vienen a la Casa de Dios. A pesar del
calor del verano, recordemos no debemos usar
pantalones cortos , ni playeras o blusas sin mangas o escotada. Mostremos cuanta reverencia
tenemos a Nuestro Señor y a nuestro prójimo. El
pudor y el respeto ante todo. Eviten que los acomodadores les llamen la atención. Muchas gracias por su colaboración.
