Baptism Preparation
Through Infant Baptism, parents “transmit to their children
their faith and the grace of the Sacraments which allow them
to enter the people of God, the Church” (Pope Francis).
Parents wanting to have their children baptized must come by the
parish office to register their child, attend preparatory classes and
follow our policy for celebrating the Sacrament. The next sets of
classes are June 9th/12th in English from 7p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Por medio del Bautismo de Hiños, los Padres “trasmiten a sus
hijos su fé y la gracia del Sacramento que les permite entrar,
formar parte del pueblo de Dios, la Iglesia” (Papa Francisco).

A couple desiring to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage must
contact the Pastor or Deacon at least 6 months before their desired
wedding date. At least one of the couple must be an active
member of the Parish and a practicing Catholic. Please call the

“We hear them speaking in their own tongues of the
mighty acts of God” (Ac 2, 11)
Spirit-filled evangelizers mean evangelizers fearlessly open
to the working of the Holy Spirit. At Pentecost, the Spirit made
the apostles go forth from themselves and turned them into
heralds of God’s wondrous deeds, capable of speaking to each
person in his or her own language. The Holy Spirit also grants
the courage to proclaim the newness of the Gospel with
boldness in every time and place, even when it meets with
opposition. Let us call upon him today, firmly rooted in prayer,
for without prayer all our activity risks being fruitless and our
message empty. Jesus wants evangelizers who proclaim the
good news not only with words, but above all by a life
transfigured by God’s presence...
Whenever we say that something is “spirited”, it usually
refers to some interior impulse which encourages, motivates,
nourishes and gives meaning to our individual and communal
activity. Spirit-filled evangelization is not the same as a set of
tasks dutifully carried out despite one’s own personal
inclinations and wishes. How I long to find the right words to
stir up enthusiasm for a new chapter of evangelization full of
fervor, joy, generosity, courage, boundless love and attraction!
Yet I realize that no words of encouragement will be enough
unless the fire of the Holy Spirit burns in our hearts. A spiritfilled evangelization is one guided by the Holy Spirit, for he is
the soul of the Church called to proclaim the Gospel... I once
more invoke the Holy Spirit. I implore him to come and renew
the Church, to stir and impel her to go forth boldly to
evangelize all peoples.

maravillas de Dios" (Hch 2, 11)
Evangelizadores llenos del Espíritu significa evangelizadores
sin miedo abiertos a la acción del Espíritu Santo. En
Pentecostés, el Espíritu hizo que los apóstoles salen de sí
mismos y los convirtieron en heraldos de hechos maravillosos
de Dios, capaces de hablar a cada persona en su propio idioma.
El Espíritu Santo concede también el valor para proclamar la
novedad del Evangelio con denuedo en todo tiempo y lugar,
incluso cuando se reúna con la oposición. Llamemos a él hoy,
firmemente enraizada en la oración, porque sin la oración todos
nuestros riesgos de la actividad siendo infructuosa y nuestro
mensaje vacío. Jesús quiere evangelizadores que anuncian la
buena noticia no sólo con palabras , sino sobre todo de una
vida transfigurada por la presencia de Dios ...
Cuando decimos que algo es "espíritu", por lo general se
refiere a un impulso interior que anima , motiva, nutre y da
sentido a nuestra actividad individual y comunal.
Evangelización llena del Espíritu no es lo mismo que un
conjunto de tareas llevadas a cabo obedientemente a pesar de
uno inclinaciones y deseos personales propios. Qué ganas de
encontrar las palabras adecuadas para despertar el entusiasmo
por un nuevo capítulo de la evangelización llena de fervor, la
alegría, la generosidad, la valentía, el amor ilimitado y la
atracción! Sin embargo, me doy cuenta de que no hay palabras
de aliento serán suficientes a menos que el fuego del Espíritu
Santo arde en nuestros corazones. Una evangelización llena del
Espíritu es uno guiado por el Espíritu Santo, porque él es el
alma de la Iglesia llamada a anunciar el Evangelio ... Una vez
más invoco al Espíritu Santo. Yo le imploro a venir y renovar la
Iglesia, agitar e impulsar a ir adelante valerosa de evangelizar
a todos los pueblos.

Catholics for dinner and great talks! The Cafe is held over four
Mondays at St. Michael Catholic Church in the Galleria area (1801
Sage Road, Houston, Tx 77056). We begin each evening with
confessions at 5:15 pm, Mass at 6:15, Dinner at 7:15, Lecture at
8:15 pm, table exhibits and socializing. Come for all or part of the
