2016 LENTEN MISSION CALENDAR The Missionary Childhood Association is the Pontifical Mission Society dedicated to fostering awareness of the missionary spirit of the Church among children. MCA promotes daily prayer, sacrificial giving, as well as the growth and sharing of each child’s faith. All funds are sent to serve children who live in mission dioceses around the world, thus the MCA motto: “Children Helping Children.” Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday February 10 Ash Wednesday Ask God to bless your Lenten journey. Thursday Friday Saturday 11 Ask Our Lady of Lourdes for peace in your home and the world. Say 1 Hail Mary. 12 Sacrifice Offer 10 minutes to pray for the children in the Middle East. 13 Pray for all who are preparing for Baptism. 14 Go to Mass! To prepare for Mass, read the Gospel for today, Luke 4:1-13 15 Pick one habit that is keeping you from holiness. Start trying to break this habit today! 16 Be grateful for what you have, and pray of the children who live on the streets. 17 Celebrate the 7 Holy Founders, dedicated to prayer and works of charity. 18 Some children can’t read or write because they cannot go to school. Say a prayer for them. 19 Sacrifice Give up a special treat and say a prayer for the children in Asia. 20 Think of the children who don’t have toys.
