MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL WONDERWEEK
September 15 - 21
Create your very own Boar Mask in celebration of the Mid-Autumn
festival. Design a scene of floating lanterns from colorful wrapping
paper!
Fiestas Patrias
September 10
Join the Children’s Museum of Houston and the Consulate General of
Mexico in Houston as we commemorate Mexico’s fight for freedom.
Celebrate Fiestas Patrias with the dynamic sounds of a Mariachi
band, the vibrant dance of Las Américas Ballet Folkórico and a
reenactment of the “Grito de Dolores.”
HOOKED ON BOOKS WONDERWEEK

Read Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak then become
one of the wild things characters when you make your very own
Where the Wild Things Are hat!
Mid-Autumn Fest

celebrate the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival. Explore Vietnamese
and Asian culture!
Chevron-Houston Texans Maker Annex
The Chevron-Houston Texans Maker Annex is a place for children to
invent, construct and showcase their work. The space encourages
makers to tap into their creative potential with access to resources
such as 3D printing, casting, programming with Arduino and
Scratch, building and soldering circuits, robotics, animation, game
development, circuit bending, laser cutting and more.

Design your own independence flag using the Mexican folk-art form of
Papel Picado! Create a colorful textured landscape of adobe houses
using glue and colored sand.

EDGY VEGGIES WONDERWEEK
September 29 – October 9
Create your own Wheel of Fitness and spin it to see what fitness
activity you can do to be healthy! Cut fruits and vegetables from
painted paper and arrange in a construction paper basket to create a
colorful collavge.

Story Time: Parent Resource Library
Join us in the Parent Resource Library for story time where each child
will receive a new book to take home at no cost. Partially sponsored by
Houston Pi Beta Phi Foundation and William J. Hill All children attending
Story Time will receive a new book to take home at no cost. Every
Thursday of the month at 5, 6 & 7 p.m. *Please note that 6 and 7 p.m.
story times are bilingual.
WHAT IS THE OPEN DOORS PROGRAM?
The Open Doors Program ensures that everyone visits the
Children’s Museum of Houston as often as they like. Local
non-profit organizations serving low income families can
obtain FREE passes to the Children’s Museum of Houston
for its constituents by becoming Open Doors partners.
Reservations are required to reserve date and time for an
Open Doors group visit. (Please note: Every 1st Friday of the
month is reserved for Museum members)
The Open Doors free admission is also extended to Lone
Star Card holders. Families that participate in the Lone Star
Card program can gain free admission to the Museum by
presenting their award letter and valid ID at the Admissions
booth.

Taller Creativo del Anexo Chevron-Houston Texans
El talle Creativo del Anexo Chevron-Houston Texans es un lugar
para que los niños inventen, construyan y muestren su trabajo. El
espacio alienta a los creadores a buscar su potencial creativo con
accesos a recursos como impresión en tercera dimensión, fundición,
programando con Arduino y Scratch, construyendo y soldando
circuitos, robótica, animación, desarrollo de juegos, flexión de
circuitos, cortando con láser y más.

Únase a nuestra Biblioteca de Recursos para Padres para el

pases GRATIS para el Museo de los Niños de Houston para
