Bishop’s Appeal Kick-Off Weekend
The 2016 Bishop’s Appeal begins this weekend and will
continue throughout February. To incorporate the Jubilee
Year of Mercy declared by Pope Francis, the title of this
year’s Appeal is “Sharing God’s Mercy.”

from their positions at the end of this school year. They have
served our church and community with love and passion for
many years, and we wish them good luck as they look forward
to their retirement.
We thank Janette Thompson and Ofelia Servin for all the love
and service they have given to St. Clement.

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are
obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition,
Fridays during Lent are obligatory
days of abstinence.
For members of the Catholic Church, the norms on
fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When
fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal. Two
smaller meals may also be taken, but not to equal a full
meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are
from age 14 onwards.

Retrouvaille.org Retrouvaille is designed to help troubled marriages regain their health. The Retrouvaille Program consists of
a weekend experience combined with post weekend sessions. The program, which emphasizes communication, provides the
tools to help put marriages in order again. The program offers the opportunity for couples to rediscover each other and examine their lives together in a new and positive way. The program has been highly successful in saving hurting marriages, even
bringing reconciliation to couples who have already separated or divorced.
