AUTODESCUBRIMIENTO Y TRANSFORMACIÓN A TRAVÉS DE LA
CALIGRAFIA CHINA: FUERZA REVELADORA MUTANTE. PROPUESTA DE
SANACIÓN ESTÉTICO HUMANISTA

La Caligrafía China, “ese pequeño Gran Universo” de trazos, matices,
significados, se convierte en esta investigación en un medio de sanación artística
para despertar la sensibilidad hacia la belleza y la necesidad del cultivo de la
propia humanidad en pacientes con diferentes patologías.
En el 2015 en la Escuela Neijing se inició un tratamiento en pacientes a través del
ejercicio caligráfico con ideogramas e ideo-pictogramas relacionados con los
cinco reinos mutantes. Los pacientes han sido seleccionados de acuerdo a su
historia de vida y necesidad. En otra sala diferente a la consulta (lo cual ha
dispuesto otro estar) los pacientes comenzaron un proceso pedagógico constante
con la caligrafía china ofreciéndoles elementos humanistas y artísticos que
favorecieran la comprensión y vivencia de los significados profundos de los trazos
caligráficos, siendo así, partícipes activos en su propia sanación al convertirse en
aprendices del fluir de su energía.
La investigación tiene como propósito mostrar que el pincel oriental con sus
características particulares y la forma de sujetarlo en el ritual meditativo de la
caligrafía, se convierte en un instrumento de prevención y sanación “estético
humanista” que introduce al paciente en una nueva forma de escritura, totalmente
diferente a la aprendida en occidente, donde la necesidad de relajar la muñeca al
tomarlo, con suavidad y firmeza, logra matices de la tinta y belleza y gracia en los
trazos, experiencia que unida al descubrimiento de nuevos significados, sumergen
al paciente en un fluido de trazos personales que le llevan a comprender y
reconocer en su propia estructura energética la presencia de los cinco elementos
(agua, madera, fuego, tierra y metal) y la necesidad de su cuidado y equilibrio
para recuperar y mantener su salud.
El viaje a través de senderos y paisajes de agua, bosques, bellos y profundos
sentidos de la cosmovisión oriental de los cinco elementos de la naturaleza,
permitió la experiencia y expresión caligráfica de emociones logrando trazos
auténticos, flexibles y creativos.
Los testimonios verbales de los pacientes (aprendices) de sus cambios de estado
y los registros de la evolución de sus trazos, han mostrado procesos de
autoconciencia y transformación de actitudes, maneras de pensar, hábitosincorporando momentos contemplativos en su cotidianidad- dando así evidencia
de la fuerza transformadora de lo pequeño.
Consideramos que esta Investigación abre horizontes hacia otras formas
pedagógicas del humanismo sanador mediante el acompañamiento “a otro ser” en
la apreciación de su escritura, valorando, descubriendo conjuntamente aspectos

humanos por mejorar en el detalle de un trazo; y a través de la sugerencia y el
sutil arte pedagógico ayudarle a recuperar la confianza en su propia capacidad
sanadora. Escribir como rasgo esencialmente humano adquiere otras
dimensiones evolutivas a través del arte caligráfico chino: Una escritura meditativa
y artística que le refleja su espíritu, le configura, le transforma y le devuelve la
alegría de la contemplación.

SELF-DISCOVERY AND TRANSFORMATION THROUGH CHINESE
CALLIGRAPHY: A MUTATING REVEALING FORCE A HUMANIST-AESTHETIC
HEALING PROPOSAL

Chinese Calligraphy: ¨That little great universe” of strokes, nuances and meanings
has been transformed in this research project into a source of healing to awaken
the sensibility of patients with different pathologies towards beauty and the need to
cultivate their own humanity.
In 2015 the Neijing School began treatment of patients with calligraphic exercises
using ideograms and ideo-pictograms which are directly related to the five
mutating kingdoms. Patients were chosen according to their life history and their
needs. In a room, separate from the acupuncture consultation, patients began a
continuing pedagogical process with Chinese calligraphy, offering them humanistic
and artistic elements that would favor their ability to comprehend and experience
the profound meanings of calligraphic strokes. Thus they became active
participants in their own healing process as they also became apprentices of their
own energy flow.
The purpose of this research is to demonstrate that the oriental brush-- displaying
particular characteristics-- and the correct way of holding it in a calligraphic,
meditative ritual become a humanist aesthetic instrument for prevention and
healing. It introduces the patient to a new way of writing, completely different to
that learned in the West, where the need to relax the wrist is essential to hold the
brush gently as well as firmly in the hand. It achieves overtones with the ink and
grace in the strokes, an experience that is linked to the detection of new
meanings. They immerse the patient in a flow of personal strokes which lead him
to comprehend and recognize within his own energy structure the presence of the
five elements (water, wood, fire, earth and metal) and to the acknowledgement of
the care and equilibrium necessary to recover and maintain his health.
The journey across landscapes of water and forests evoked a sense of beauty that
was comprehended through the oriental worldview of the five elements of nature,

allowing for the calligraphic experience and expression of emotions through
authentic, flexible and creative strokes.
The verbal testimonials of the patients (apprentices) utter change in their condition
and register the evolution of their strokes, displaying a process of self-awareness
as well as a transformation of attitudes. New ways of thinking and habits that
incorporate contemplative moments in their everyday lives become the evidence
of the ever transforming force of the small.
We consider that this research opens horizons towards other pedagogical forms of
healing humanism by means of the accompaniment of “the other” through the
appreciation of his or her handwriting, jointly discovering human aspects, needing
improvement, in the detail of a stroke while, simultaneously, prompting the subtle
art of pedagogy to help recover the confidence in his or her capacity to heal.
Writing as an essential human quality acquires other evolutionary dimensions
through Chinese calligraphy: a meditative artistic expression that reflects the
patient`s spirit and configures, transforms and allows him to return to the joy of
contemplation.
