Module 5: Addition and Subtraction within 1,000 with
Word Problems
GRAMMAR
Content: Singular and Plural Nous
Students will be able to recognize the difference between
regular and plural nouns. Students will be able to apply their
knowledge of nouns to different activities.
SCIENCE
Core Idea: Interdependent relationships in ecosystems
Students will start this unit of
science and learn:
 Energy flows between living organisms within an
ecosystem.
 Plants need light and water
to grow. Plants also depend on animals for pollination or to move their
seeds around.
 There are many different
kinds of living things in any
area, and they exist in different places on land and
water.

Valentine’s Day
Card Exchange
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we will have a
Valentine’s Day card exchange. We will
have the exchange at the end of the day
between 2:00 and 2:30, on February 12th.
You may send snacks to be shared during
our exchange. Students can wear red tshirts with uniform bottoms.

Theme: Animals
Spanish: Opinion Paragraph
Students will be reading informational text about various
animals. They will be analyzing
the text and practicing the
usage of a Venn Diagram to
compare and contrast various
texts.
Your child will learn how to write a
paragraph about his/her opinion.
English: Expository Paragraph
Your child will continue working on
writing that involves explaining a
subject.

Para celebrar el Día de San Valentín, haremos
un intercambio de tarjetas de San Valentín.
Haremos el intercambio al final del día, a parid de las 2:00 a 2:30 el 12 de febrero. Si
gustan, están bienvenidos mandar bocadillos
para los alumnos durante la celebración del
