A special thanks to all our parishioners who donated blood during our last drive… we had close
to 50 donations! Our next BLOOD DRIVE of
2013 is Sunday, February 24, in the Community
Center from 8:00am to 1:00 pm. There is always
shortage of blood so we really need your continued support for
this drive to continue to meet our parish and community goals
for the year. What better way to show your “Lenten Spirit”
then by donating your most precious gift - the “Gift of Life”.

REGISTRATION.
Holy Ghost School is now accepting new
students for the 2013-2014 school year.
Families may pick up the registration
packet at any time between 7:30 am - 3:30 pm in the
school office, Monday through Friday. There are
openings on all grade levels from PK3 through the
grade 8th Grade. Forms for tuition assistance are
also available in the school office.

Our annual Auction Dinner will take place on
Saturday, March 23 here in the Community
Center. Please reserve this date on your calendar now. Invitations will be coming to you in

Guidelines For Lenten Observance
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday : are days of fast and abstinence.
Fridays during Lent - are days of abstinence.
Fasting - binds all persons who have completed their 18th
birthday through those who have completed their 59th year,
unless prevented by poor health. On days of fast, one full meal
is allowed. Two other meals sufficient to maintain strength,
may be taken according to one’s own needs. Eating between
meals is not allowed although fluids may be taken.
Abstinence - binds all persons who have completed their 14th
birthday, unless prevented by poor health. On days of abstinence, the consumption of meat is not allowed. The Church
strongly encourages the observance of Friday abstinence, but
failure to do so is not regarded as sinful.

2013 en el gimnasio de Holy Ghost de las 8 am a la 1 pm. Para

0204. Necesitamos su asistencia para continuar salvado vidas.
GUIA PARA LA CUARESMA
Miércoles de Ceniza y Viernes Santo Son días de ayuno y abstinencia.
Viernes de Cuaresma - Son días de
abstinencia.
Ayuno - Es para personas que han cumplido 18 años hasta los que han cumplido 59 años, a menos que tengan
condiciones de salud. En días de ayuno,
una comida completa es permitida. Y dos comidas pequeñas
que le permitan mantener sus fuerzas pueden hacerse de
acuerdo a las necesidades de cada persona. Comer entre comidas no es permitido, pero si tomar líquidos.
Abstinencia - Es para todas las personas que han cumplido 14
años, a menos que tengan problemas de salud. En días de abstinencia no es permitido comer carne. Durante los Viernes de
Cuaresma no se debe comer carne, pero si lo hace no es un
pecado.
