Second Sunday of Advent
December 9, 2012
Join us for Deacon Bob Grimaldi’s Farewell
Reception
“A voice of one crying out in
the desert: “Prepare the
way of the Lord, make
straight his paths. Every
valley shall be filled and
every mountain and hill
shall be made low. The
winding roads shall be made
straight, and the rough
ways made smooth, and all
flesh shall see the salvation
of God.”
Luke 3:6 Please make plans to join us for a farewell reception for our beloved Deacon Bob Grimaldi on Sunday, December 16 after the 9am and 11am Masses. Deacon Bob and his family have been active parishioners since October of 2002. Deacon Bob was ordained in February of 2011 and has touched us with his sincere love of God ever since. Deacon Bob has been involved in several ministries here at St. Brendan’s, especially administering the Eucharist to the sick and elderly. He has presided over many baptisms and spent many hours working with our Youth Faith Formation programs. Deacon Bob and his family have been blessed with a business opportunity for Bob and have relocated to Dawsonville. He has been assigned to continue God’s work at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Dahlonega. We will certainly miss him as a deacon, but know that he will continue to be a role model for how we are called to live as Disciples of Christ. Cookies...Cookies…& More – FREE chances to win

Prayer Basket
The Hispanic community has organized a “prayer” basket for our parish. Running through the Advent season, the basket will be located in the Narthex to collect all your prayer intentions. Please write down your prayer intention/request and add it to the basket. You are invited to take a prayer request and pray especially for those requested intentions. This is a wonderful way for our community to be united in prayer as we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe and prepare for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Making

Year Of Faith For Families During this Year of Faith, the Holy Father has asked Catholics to make good use of the Catechism of the Catholic Church to deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith. Why not wrap up a copy of the Catechism and put it under the Christmas tree as a gift for the whole family? Then, during at least one family dinner each week, select a brief quote from the book for family discussion.
The Catechism is available at local Catholic bookstores, or go online to https://catalog.osv.com/Catalog.aspx?SimpleDisplay=true&ProductCode=976. .

Nuestro Salvador, Jesucristo.
