Cursos para profesores
Con mucho éxito concluyeron los cursos para profesores del mes de enero “Teaching
Primary School Students” (TPSS) y “Teaching Secondary School Students”(TSSS).
En el mes de febrero se dictaron los tres cursos de nuestro Programa:
“Teaching Very Young Learners” (TVYL)
“Teaching Primary School Students” (TPSS)
“Teaching Secondary School Students” (TSSS)
Los participantes fueron profesores de diferentes instituciones y colegios, a quienes deseamos
muchos éxitos en este nuevo año escolar.

XX Concurso de Acuarela
PREMIO JOHN CONSTABLE 2008
En esta vigésima edición del Concurso de Acuarela, la Asociación Cultural Peruano
Británica otorgará al primer premio un pasaje y estadía en Londres durante un
mes, que incluirá estudios de inglés y visitas a museos y galerías de arte.
Recepción de obras: del 7 de abril al 9 de mayo, de lunes a viernes de 10:00 a.m.
a 1:00 p.m. y de 3:00 a 6:00 p.m.
Pueden obtener las bases en el Centro Cultural Peruano Británico (Jr. Bellavista

this issue we are going to deal with FCE Paper 2 - Writing.

Curso para profesores: Partially On-line (semipresencial)
Como es de conocimiento general, ofrecemos regularmente el programa de capacitación externa con cursos dirigidos especialmente
a profesores. A partir del mes de marzo, el BRITÁNICO, siempre pensando en cubrir las necesidades del público, ofrecerá el curso
“Teaching Primary School Students” en la modalidad “Partially On-line” (semipresencial). Las clases se inician el 8 de marzo. Para

Alumnos becados a UK
Tenemos el agrado de informar que nuestra alumna Teresa Rivas, una de las ganadoras de la beca a la excelencia, viajó a Londres
durante el mes de enero 2008 y ya está de retorno. En la próxima edición incluiremos sus comentarios sobre esta nueva experiencia.
Asimismo, les informamos que el 4 de febrero viajaron dos alumnos más: Sara Eléspuru y Luis Tapia. Al cierre de la presente edición
aún estaban de viaje por lo que compartiremos sus comentarios en las próximas ediciones.
Quien está preparando maletas es nuestra alumna Zohi Mejía –otra de nuestras alumnas becadas- que viajará para seguir estudios
en UK en el mes de marzo del 2008. ¡¡Suerte Zohi!!

Constancias de Fase
Culminada - Cursos Regulares
- Programa de Adultos
Los estudiantes que culminan satisfactoriamente las Fases
Básica, Intermedia o Avanzada reciben una “Constancia de
Fase Culminada”, de manera automática el último día de
clase en el aula y en forma gratuita por única vez. Los ausentes
el último día podrán solicitarla en la recepción de su centro,
en fecha posterior, previo pago de los derechos
correspondientes.
Desaprobados – reincidencia
Aunque son casos excepcionales y poco frecuentes, les
informamos que los estudiantes que desaprueben el mismo
ciclo por tercera vez, serán reevaluados para ubicarlos en el
nivel correspondiente. No podrán matricularse en el mismo
ciclo por cuarta vez.

British Culture, Traditions and more….

On 28th January we received our guest Ms Charley Rainey who shared information about British Culture with our students.
When people think of Britain they often think of people drinking tea, eating fish and chips and wearing bowler hats, but there is
more to Britain than just those things.
There are English and British traditions of sport, music, food and many royal occasions.
Britain is full of culture and traditions which have been around for hundreds of years,
their customs and traditions are famous all over the world.
What about Stonehenge? …Who built it? No one really knows, but we can agree
that it is a unique symbol of mystery and power.
What about Glastonbury Festival??? This is a festival of Contemporary Performing
Arts, and the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world. It is
influenced by a hippie ethic that encourages and stimulates youth culture from around
the world in all its forms, including pop music, dance music, jazz, folk music, fringe
theatre, drama, mime, circus, cinema, poetry and all the creative forms of art and
design, including painting, sculpture and textile art.
As Ms Rainey says, “It is one of the most spectacular events on earth.”
Thanks to Ms Rainey for sharing part of her culture with us.

In January, students were invited to join conversation sessions in San Isidro. Everyone was welcome as often as they liked. Registration
was required. These sessions were discussions led by our UK teacher Sian Lighfoot. Students participated actively and had the
opportunity to meet students from other groups and levels. It was a good way for them to activate their language.

visit in England and Wales?, were some of the questions Sian
Lightfoot answered last January 30 in San Isidro to students who
registered to attend the talk. These sessions are for your benefit
because they help you with cultural enrichment while learning

El día 28 de enero se llevó a cabo una charla con la profesora
británica Charley Rainey en el SAC de nuestro centro, con una
buena asistencia de parte de nuestros alumnos. Nuestra angelical
profesora Charley compartió con los asistentes temas relacionados
a diferentes ciudades de Inglaterra. Los alumnos estuvieron muy
contentos de poder intercambiar cultura y hacer uso del idioma
Inglés en forma natural y espontánea.
“El Espíritu de un Pueblo”

Conocer sobre Glastonbury es conocer del espíritu y la historia de
Inglaterra.
La magia de este hermoso y místico lugar al sur de Inglaterra nos
fue transmitida gracias a la presentación que la profesora británica
Charley Rainey realizó en el mes de enero en el centro de Miraflores.
Descubrimos que lo que representa el Rey Arturo para los británicos
y muchas historias sobre este personaje están ligadas a este
hermoso lugar que es también sueño e inspiración para artistas
musicales y para movimientos de los tiempos actuales orientados
a nuevas actitudes, creencias y pensamientos sobre el valor y el
poder de la naturaleza.
Contagiados de este espíritu disfrutamos de esta sesión tomando
el tradicional té acompañado con leche.
