Description
The F310 is an RFID stationary reader engineered for the Livestock market. It’s been designed for farm
automation or animal census. The F310 features top class reading performances in static or dynamic
conditions.
Before going forward, please make sure the internal battery is charged or the reader is connected to a
power supply.

Before reading any tags, please make sure the antenna is correctly tuned.
Once your antenna is connected, turn on your reader and press the PLAY/PAUSE button to turn off
the corresponding LED.
Then auto-tune the reader by pressing the PLAY/PAUSE button for 2 seconds.
Once the auto-tuning is done, the reader beeps twice.
The Tuning LED shows the tuning status of the antenna connected to the device.

Configure F310 date and time (optional)
All tags read by the F310 are recorded in its internal memory together with a date and a time stamp.
You should therefore set the reader's internal clock to your corresponding time zone.
(If you are not interested in setting-up the correct date and time, you can go directly to the next chapter)

Install Rumisoft on your computer and launch the application. Rumisoft is the F310 companion
software. It can be downloaded freely from www.datamars.com. Be sure you have at least the
Rumisoft version v. 1.4.0.
Turn on the F310 and connect it to your computer using the COM (serial) port.
Enter the Rumisoft configuration menu (in the toolbar) and make sure you are in “Advance” mode.
Launch the dashboard functionality.
Select the COM port of your computer to which the F310 is connected (can take some time) and
set-up the COM Baudrate to 115’200 bps (default value).
Click the SET TIME and SET DATE buttons in the dashboard. This will synchronize the F310 to the
date and time of your computer.
Select the Console submenu to see the command log. If it looks like the snapshot below, congratulations, the F310 has been correctly configured.

Scan and Record tags with the F310
In this case the F310 reads and stores tags in its internal memory without being connected to a
computer.

Connect the reader to the Gesant Antenna.
■
Press the ON button to turn on your reader. If needed tune the antenna (see above).
■
Make sure the antenna is not active (PLAY/PAUSE led is off).
■
Choose your reading mode by pressing the MODE button. The buffered mode (orange LED) is the
standard reading mode.
Single mode: the device reads for a pre-determinate time. If a tag is read during this time slot, the
reader shows the ID code and stop reading.
Buffered mode: the F310 reads continuously and keeps in its memory the last 16 readings.
The tag ID is displayed and stored if the code isn’t already present among the last 16 readings.
Continuous mode: the device reads and sends the ID code of the tags continuously

Press the REC button to turn on tag recording (red LED).
■
Press the file led to create a new file in which the tags will be recorded (the file button turns orange).
■
Press the Play/Pause button to activate the antenna and start the reading session. The file button
will turn off as soon as a tag is read and all tags will be recorded in the F310 internal memory.
The recording file is named with the current date and time stamps.
NOTE: Tag numbers will be stored in this file until a new file is created by the user. As a consequence,
a file named “F310DATA_20130612_110048.rc3” (created on the 12th of June 2013 at 11:00:48) can
contain tags read on the 15th of August or 10th of September if a new file hasn’t been created.

To download the recorded file on your computer, connect the reader to your computer using the USB
cable. Open Rumisoft and under Configuration/Advance, select the file you want to export from
F310/Console folder of the tree menu on the left, click on the mouse right button and choose
“Export”.

Using F310 with the PC dashboard
Your computer can be used to display the tags read by the F310 “on the fly” thanks to the Dashboard
function provided in Rumisoft. Please note that the tags read are always stored in the F310 internal
memory and not on the computer. The computer is used only to display the tags numbers.
Repeat the steps presented in the paragraph “Configure F310 date and time” to connect the F310 to
your computer via the serial port. To make sure the reader is successfully connected to your computer,
you can click on the Single reading/Continuous mode/Buffered mode buttons on the dashboard and
check that the MODE LED on the front panel changes color accordingly.
To proceed with readings, select the “Readings” view on the Dashboard. All the tags read will appear in
the panel as shown above.
The tags numbers are stored in the active storage file inside the F310 memory. To create a new storage
file, please refer to the previous paragraph “Scan and Record tags with the F310”.
On top of the tag numbers, the Dashboard provides the following information:
Total: it indicates how many times you have scanned your animals (including duplicates).
Duplicate: indicates how many tags have been read twice.
In List: if you have created a list of tags that you need to search during your reading session, the tags
belonging to the list will be underlined when they are read.
To download the recording file on your computer, connect the reader to your computer using the USB
cable. Open Rumisoft and under Configuration/Advance, select the file you want to export from
F310/Console folder of the tree menu on the left, click on the mouse right button and choose “Export”.
Please note that the dashboard provides access to the basic functionalities related to tag numbers and
reading mode. All other functionalities (REC, storage file. Play/pause) shall be configured directly from
the reader’s panel as described in the previous chapter.

Descripción
El F310 es un lector de RFID estático diseñado para el mercado ganadero, para automatizar tareas
tales como el inventario de los animales. Las características del F310 lo transforman en una herramienta de alta performance a la hora de hacer lecturas dinámicas de transponders.
Antes de continuar, por favor compruebe que la batería interna se encuentre cargada o que el lector
esté conectado a la energía eléctrica.

Sintonización de Antena
Antes de comenzar a leer los microchips, debe conectar y sintonizar la antena.
Una vez conectada, encienda el lector con el botón de ENCENDER/APAGAR y presione el botón de
LECTURA/PAUSA para apagar el LED correspondiente.
La Sintonización de la antena se lleva a cabo presionando el botón LECTURA/PAUSA durante dos
segundos. Una vez que la sintonización está completada, el lector emitirá dos “bips”.
El LED de Tuning (Sintonización) mostrará el estado de la sintonización con la antena conectada al lector.

Configurar la fecha y hora del F310 (opcional)
Todos los microchips leídos con el F310 son grabados en la memoria interna junto con la fecha y la
hora. Por lo tanto, el reloj interno del lector debe configurarse con la correspondiente zona horaria de
su región. (Si no le interesa configurar la fecha y hora correcta, diríjase directamente al próximo capítulo).

Instale Rumisoft en su computadora y ejecútelo. Rumisoft es el software que permite interactuar
con el lector F310. Lo puede descargar gratuitamente desde www.datamars.com. Procure obtener
siempre la última versión del Rumisoft.
Conecte el lector a la computadora usando el puerto serie COM y encienda el lector.
Ingrese al Menú Configuración de la barra de herramientas del Rumisoft y tilde la opción “Avanzado”
Presione el botón “Panel” en el Rumisoft.
Selecciones el puerto COM de su computadora para conectarse con el F310 (se demora unos
minutos) y configure la velocidad de conexión (baudrate) en 115,200 bps (valor por defecto).
Haga click en SET DATE (CONFIGURAR FECHA) y SET TIME (CONFIGURAR HORA) en el menú.
El F310 se sincronizará con la fecha y hora de su computadora.
Seleccione el submenú de la consola para ver el cuadro de comandos. Si se ve igual que en la
captura de pantalla de aquí abajo, el F310 se ha configurado correctamente.

Leer y Almacenar microchips con el F310
El F310 puede leer y almacenar microchips en su memoria interna sin necesidad de estar conectado a
una computadora.

Conecte la Gesant Antena al lector.
Presione el botón de ENCENDIDO para prender el lector. Si necesita sintonizar la antena lea la el
primer capítulo.
Compruebe que la antena no está activada (LED LECTURA/PAUSA apagado).
Elija el modo de lectura presionando el botón MODE. El color del LED MODE le indicará el modo
seleccionando. Para la lectura estándar, modo BUFFER, el LED estará en color naranja.
Lectura simple: el lectore escanea por un tiempo predeterminado. Si un microchip se leido en ese
intervalo de tiempo, el lector muestra el código ID y deja de leer.
Lectura Buffer: el lector lee continuamente pero envía el código leido sólo la primera vez que se lee.
Lectura continua: el dispositivo lee y envía el código de los identificadores electrónicos de forma
continua.
Presione el botón REC para almacenar los microchips leídos (LED rojo).
Presione el botón ARCHIVO para crear un nuevo archivo en el que van a ser grabados los microchips
(LED ARCHIVO en color naranja).
Presione el botón LECTURA/PAUSA para activar la antena y comenzar la sesión de lectura. El LED
ARCHIVO se apagará cuando lea un microchip y el F310 almacenará todos los microchips leídos en
su memoria interna. El archivo almacenado será nombrado automáticamente con la fecha y hora en
que se creó.
NOTA: Los números de microchips se almacenaran en el mismo archivo hasta que un nuevo archivo
sea creado por el usuario. En consecuencia, el archivo llamado “F310DATA_20130612_110048.rc3”
(creado el 12 de junio de 2013 a las 11:00:48) puede contener microchips leídos el 15 de Agosto o
del 10 de noviembre si no fue creado un nuevo archivo.

Para descargar el archivo de lecturas en su computadora, conecte el lector a la misma mediante el
cable USB. Haga click en el botón Leer Control del Rumisoft y seleccione el archivo que desea
descargar y haga click en Abrir. Luego seleccione la carpeta de su computadora adonde quiera
almacenar el archivo y haga clic en Guardar.

Utilizar el F310 con el panel de la PC
Su computadora puede ser usada para visualizar en forma instantánea de los microchips que se están
leyendo con el F310 gracias a la función del Panel provisto por el Rumisoft. Tenga presente que los
microchips leídos se almacenan solamente en la memoria interna del F310 y no en la computadora.
La computadora sólo se usa para visualizar los números que se van leyendo.
Repita los pasos seguidos en el capítulo “Configurar la fecha y hora del F310” para conectar el F310
a su computadora mediante el puerto COM serie. Para estar seguro de que el lector está conectado
satisfactoriamente a su computadora, Ud. puede hacer click en el botón de LECTURA/ MODO
CONTINUO/ MODO BUFFER y compruebe que los LEDs del panel frontal del F310 cambien de color.
Para comenzar la lectura seleccione la pestaña LECTURAS en el Panel. Todos los microchips leídos
irán apareciendo en el panel, tal como se muestra en la figura.
Los números leídos son almacenados en el archivo dentro de la memoria interna del F310. Para crear
un nuevo archivo de almacenamiento, vaya al capítulo “Leer y Almacenar microchips con el F310”.
El Panel mostrará también la siguiente información:
Total: Indica la cantidad de microchips leídos (incluidos los duplicados).
Duplicado: Indica la cantidad de microchips que se leyeron más de una vez.
En Lista: Si Ud. ha creado una lista de microchips que necesita buscar durante su sesión de lectura,
los microchips incluidos en esa lista, aparecerán resaltados cuando son leídos.
Para descargar el archivo de lectura en su computadora, conecte el lector a la PC mediante el cable
USB. En la opción de Configuración Avanzada, seleccione el archivo que quiere exportar haciendo click
con botón derecho del mouse y seleccione “Exportar”.
Desde el Panel podrá realizar funciones básicas relacionados con la lectura de microchips y con el
modo de lectura. Todas las otras funciones (GRABAR, archivo de almacenamiento, Comenzar/Pausar)
pueden ser configuradas directamente desde el panel frontal del lector como se describe en el capítulo
correspondiente.

Il lettore stazionario F310 è stato progettato per il mercato del bestiame. È il prodotto ideale per l’automazione delle aziende agricole o il censimento di animali. Il lettore F310 garantisce ottime prestazioni di
lettura sia in condizioni di staticità sia in dinamica.
Prima di proseguire, assicuratevi che la batteria del lettore sia carica o che il lettore sia collegato ad una
fonte di energia.

Come sintonizzare l’antenna
Prima di iniziare la lettura di un tag, controllare che l’antenna sia sintonizzata correttamente.
Dopo aver collegato l’antenna, accendere il lettore e premere il tasto Avvio/Pausa per togliere la luce
LED corrispondente.
Per eseguire la sintonizzazione automatica dell’antenna premere per due secondi il tasto Avvio/Pausa.
Il lettore emette il suono di due “bip” a sintonizzazione avvenuta.
Il LED di sintonizzazione mostra lo status dell’antenna connessa al lettore:

Come configurare Data e Ora sul vostro F310
Tutti i tag registrati con F310 sono salvati nella memoria interna per data e ora. Per questo motivo è
meglio impostare l’orologio del lettore in base al vostro fuso orario. (Se non siete interessati ad impostare
correttamente l’orologio, saltate il capitolo).

Installare Rumisoft sul vostro computer e lanciare l’applicazione. Il software Rumisoft è già incluso e
può essere scaricato gratuitamente dal sito www.datamars.com. Assicuratevi di avere almeno la
versione Rumisoft v. 1.4.0
Accendere il lettore e collegarlo al pc tramite la porta seriale COM. Aprire Rumisoft e dal menu configurazione verificare di essere in modalità Avanzata.
Lanciare la funzionalità del pannello (dashboard).
Selezionare la porta COM del pc a cui è collegato il lettore (può prendere un po’ di tempo) e
impostare il COM Baudrate su 115’000 bps (valore di default).
Cliccare i tasti Imposta Ora e Imposta Data per sincronizzare il lettore con la data e ora del vostro pc.
Selezionare il menù Console per visualizzare il log dei comandi. Se visualizzate come la finestra sotto
riportata, complimenti, il lettore è configurato correttamente.

Leggere e registrare con F310
Di seguito sono riportate le istruzioni per leggere e registrare i tag nella memoria interna del lettore
senza collegarsi al computer.

Collegare il lettore all’antenna Gesant.
Premere il tasto Avvio per accendere il lettore. Se necessario, sintonizzate l’antenna (come illustrato
in precedenza).
Assicurarsi che l’antenna NON sia ancora attiva (LED del tasto Avvio/Pausa spento).
Scegliere la modalità di lettura premendo il tasto MODE. La modalità buffer (LED arancione)
è quella standard di lettura.
Lettura singola: il dispositivo legge per un periodo di tempo predeterminato. Se il tag viene letto
durante questo periodo di tempo, il lettore mostra il codice ID e ferma la lettura.
Lettura buffer: il lettore legge in continuazione e trasmette il codice solo la prima volta che viene letto.
Lettura continua: il lettore legge e invia i codici dei tag in modo continuo.

Premere il tasto REC per iniziare la registrazione dei tag (LED rosso).
■
Premere il tasto FILE per creare un nuovo file in cui verranno registrati i tag letti.
■
Premere il tasto Avvio/Pausa per riattivare l’antenna e iniziare la scansione dei vostri animali. Il LED
del tasto FILE si spegne quando il primo tag viene letto, tutti i tag vengono salvati nella memoria
interna del lettore. Il file in uso viene salvato automaticamente con la data e l’ora della registrazione.
NOTA: i codici dei tag letti vengono salvati in questo file fino a quando un nuovo file non sarà creato
dall’utente. Per esempio, un file chiamato ““F310DATA_20130612_110048.rc3” (creato il 12 giugno
2013 alle 11:00:48) può contenere tag letti in altri giorni se nessun nuovo file è stato creato.

Per scaricare i files registrati dal lettore al vostro pc, collegare il lettore al vostro computer usando il
cavo USB. Nella configurazione Avanzata selezionare il file da esportare e col tasto destro del mouse
cliccare su Esporta.

Leggere e registrare con F310 collegato al vostro pc
Tramite il vostro pc e il software Rumisoft è possibile visualizzare in tempo reale i tag letti con F310.
Ricordate che i tag letti sono salvati nella memoria interna del lettore e non sul vostro computer.
Lo schermo del vostro pc serve solo a visualizzare la lettura dei tag.
Ripetere le istruzioni del capitolo “Come configurare Data e Ora sul vostro F310” per collegare il lettore
al vostro pc tramite porta seriale COM. Per essere sicuri che il lettore sia collegato correttamente al pc,
cliccare sul tasto modalità di lettura e verificare che il LED corrispondente sia acceso e del colore
analogo alla modalità scelta.
Per procedere con la registrazione, selezionare “Letture” dal pannello. Tutti i tag registrati verranno
visualizzati come mostrato nella figura sopra riportata.
I codici dei tag vengono salvati nella memoria del lettore. Per creare un nuovo file, fare riferimento alle
istruzioni riportate nel capitolo precedente.
Sullo schermo del vostro computer vengono visualizzate le seguenti informazioni:
Totale: indica il numero di animali scansionati (inclusi gli animali letti piu volte).
Duplicati: indica quanti codici sono stati letti piu di una volta.
Lista: visualizza i codice letti appartenenti ad una lista creata in precedenza.
Per scaricare i file registrati dal lettore al vostro pc, collegare il lettore al vostro computer usando il cavo
USB. Nella configurazione Avanzata selezionare il file da esportare e col tasto destro del mouse cliccare
su Esporta.
Il Pannello permette l’accesso alle funzionalità base relative ai codici letti ed alla modalità di lettura.
Tutte le altre funzioni (registrazione, salvataggio dei file, Avvio/Pausa) devono essere configurate
direttamente dal pannello del lettore.
