6th Sunday of Easter

Transcripción

6th Sunday of Easter
News from the Bishop: One of
the most powerful testimonies to
the culture of life is support of
pregnant women in need. In the
new statement “Set Out in
Haste,” the Maryland bishops
discuss the need to reach out to
pregnant women, as well as
review recent proposals that
target
pregnancy
resource
centers, which provide pregnant
women
with
emotional
and
material support. To learn more
about this issue and how you can
help, please read the bishops’
statement in today’s bulletin or
visit www.mdcathcon.org.
Noticias del Obispo: Uno de los
testimonios más poderosos de la
cultura de la vida es el apoyo de
las mujeres embarazadas que lo
necesitan.
En
la
nueva
declaración ‘Salió Presurosa,’
los obispos de Maryland discutir la
necesidad de llegar a las mujeres
embarazadas, así como revisar
las propuestas recientes que
afectan los centros para las
mujeres embarazadas.

Pastor’s
Musings
I invite you to
visit the parish
website,
www.stmaryscambridge.org,
if
you have not done so recently. I
may be prejudiced, but I think it
is one of the best parish websites
in the diocese, if not the whole of
creation. It has pictures, sound,
music, the weekly parish bulletin,
parish pastoral council minutes,
the parish mission statement,
committee reports, and much,
much more.
You can get
directions to church and find out
what is happening in the parish.
Kudos to Chris Flynn, the parish
webmaster, and those who assist
him. The website will translate
the bulletin and other information
into Spanish or the language of
your choice. We need to work on
using the parish calendar on the
site and add a picture of the
pastor (and Señor Gato, of
course).

Pensamientos del pastor
Yo los invito a visitar el sitio
web
de
la
parroquia,
www.stmaryscambridge.org, si no
lo han hecho recientemente. Yo
puedo ser parcial, pero yo creo
que es uno de los mejores sitios
de las parroquias en la diócesis, si
no en la totalidad de la creación.
Cuenta con imágenes, sonido, la
música, el boletín parroquial
semanal, los minutos del consejo
pastoral, la declaración de la
misión de la parroquia, los
informes de los comités de la
parroquia y muchos más. Usted
puede aprender el camino hasta
la iglesia y desubrir lo que está
ocurriendo
en
la
parroquia.
Felicidades a Chris Flynn, el
webmaster, y los que le ayuden.
El sitio web se traducirá el boletín
y otra información en español o la
lengua
de
su
elección.
Necesitamos que trabajar sobre el
uso del calendario de la parroquia
en el sitio y agregar una imagen
del pastor (y Señor Gato, por
supuesto).

Financial News:
The Finance
Council has given the 6-month
report (July 1 to Dec. 31, 2009)
of parish income and expenses.
Ordinary Income
(regular collection,
hall rent, etc.)…………..
Special Purpose
Income (Building

Mass)…………………………

$17,141
$29,045
$2,667
Total Income
$172,009
Expenses
$157,133
The report is good news, of
course. The difference in income
over expenses was generated by
a gain of $11,913 in our
investment
account
and
an
increase in weekly offertory,
Christmas, holy day and rental
income. Thank you to those
who have increased your
regular giving to the parish!
We are not out of the woods yet,
but we are making progress. We
were able to pay $6,750 on our
past due assessment to the
diocese of $13,500 (an additional
$6,750 will be due in March).
More importantly, the parish
continues to offer all of our
services
(liturgies,
religious
education, Hispanic Ministry) and
supports the St. Vincent de Paul
ministry, community needs and
special needs (Haitian relief).
None of this would be possible
without your generosity.
Cat-Lick Corner:
“I made a bet
with
the
pastor on the
Super
Bowl.
He thinks the Saints are going to
win.
But I know that Peyton
Manning is one ‘cool cat,’ and the
Colts will win.”
Señor Gato.
The Wisdom of
Blessed John XXIII:
“My failures and my
wretchedness … keep
me from any manner
of self-exaltation; but they do not
weaken my trust, my trust in God
who places his gentle hand over
me, holding me and giving me
strength.”
