A study on online victimization found that approximately one in five
children receive sexual solicitation from a stranger over the internet.
Given today’s reliance on online contact, imagine how much that number has grown over the last several years. Children who use the internet cannot be totally safe from dangers, because the internet is open
to all, but parents should monitor activity and sites visited to ensure
that their kids aren’t being contacted by predators. Talk to your child
about internet safety and appropriate vs. inappropriate communication.

very important for us? Have these things have taken time
from our listening to one another this week?

and the Bible readings for today

The first reading tells us that we will not be free from danger, but
that we can live with trust in God’s providence for us.
Through faith and trust in God, Abraham and all the believers
were able to face painful situations. What doubts and darkness is
our family living at this time?
We are invited to pay attention and vigilance to the signs of the
coming of God into our lives. We can do this by paying attention
to one another, serving one another, and taking our responsibilities seriously.

Have we listened to one another this week? Has anyone not felt
respected or listened to? Why?
Have we lived in a hurry without really thinking about what is important to us?
In our jobs and school, have we given the best of ourselves, working

The basic attitude for us is service., seriousness about the life God has
entrusted to us and the certainty that through our faithful and responsible
service, the reign of God is being built. Is a life like that worthwhile? Freedom and joy are reached thorough embracing the gospel, but we must
leave behind everything that is not God, even if attractive: the temptation to
abuse power, neglect, lack of attention, lack of honesty in our work.
Prayer for Vocations
God and gracious God you have called us through our Baptism to
discipleship with your Son, Jesus Christ, and have sent us to bring the
Good News of Salvation to all people. We pray for you to grant us
more priests, deacons, religious brothers and sisters and lay ministers
to build up your Church here within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
Inspire our young men and women by the example of Blessed Junipero Serra to give themselves totally to the work of Christ and his
Church. We ask you this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

La actitud básica que se nos pide es el servicio, la seriedad con la vida
que Dios nos ha encargado y la seguridad que, a través de nuestro
servicio fiel y responsable, Dios va haciendo su reino. ¿Merece la pena
una vida así? Se alcanza la libertad y alegría por medio de abrazar el
evangelio, pero hay que dejar todo lo que, aunque sea atractivo a primera vista, no es de Dios: la tentación de abusar del poder, la falta de honradez en el trabajo, la falta de atención, la negligencia.
Oración por las Vocaciones
Dios clemente y generoso, tu nos has llamado a través de nuestro
Bautismo al discipulado con tu Hijo, Jesucristo, y nos has enviado
para anunciar la Buena Nueva de salvación a todos los hombres. Te
rogamos que nos concedas más sacerdotes, diáconos, religiosos y
religiosas y ministros laicos para construir tu Iglesia aquí en la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles. Inspira a nuestros jóvenes, hombres y mujeres, con el ejemplo del Beato Junípero Serra, a entregarse totalmente

The Sacraments
The Eucharist is a true treasure for us. It is the bread that
gives us true life. It is the Body and Blood of Christ that
gives us the strength to serve God and one another faithfully.
