Of the 1,218 incorporated cities in Texas, we are ranked 228. The survey itself only looked at cities over 10,000 in population which is 247 but the important thing is not where we are ranked but that we have finally made the list. Cities were ranked by the real estate web site movoto.com and the rankings are based on factors such as weather, quality of life, total crime, taxes, and unemployment rate. We were ranked in the top 25 cities for commute and in the top 28 in tax rate. We need to keep working to improve our position but each time we add another amenity to our quality of life, or make another drug bust to eliminate crime from our city, we improve a little more.
