THE “PEQUEÑ0S ARTISTAS” EXHIBITION
CLOSES AT LABORAL TOMORROW
CARRIED OUT IN COLLABORATION WITH LA ESCUELA DE EDUCACIÓN
INFANTIL EL BIBIO, THE SHOW FEATURES WORK BY 185 CHILDREN
FROM 0 TO 3 YEARS OF AGE.
Tomorrow, Thursday, at six in the afternoon, the "Pequeños Artistas"
["Little Artists"] exhibition in LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial
will come to a close. It includes the work of 185 children from 0 to 3 years
of age that has been on display in the Classrooms of El Centro de Arte
since June 19th. Parents of the participating children will atend the
closing event, emphasizing the importance of artistic education and the
introduction to new artistic languages from the earliest moments of life.
“Pequeños artistas” is an initiative of La Escuela de Educación Infantil de
El Bibio, in collaboration with LABoral, which hopes to give expression to
the creativity of the very young, compensating them by exhibiting a
selection of the work they have completed during the course of the school
year.
The importance of this initiative will be seen at the Congreso Internacional
de Arte Infantil y Adolescentes. Nuevos contextos para el arte, el juego y
la creatividad, organised by the Departamento de Didáctica de la
Expresión Plástica of the Fine Arts Faculty of La Universidad Complutense
de Madrid. The congress will be held on the 12th, 13th and 14th of
January, 2010, in the Fine Arts Faculty of La Complutense (Calle El Greco,
2. 28040. Madrid) and will reflect on the new contexts in which artistic
education is being carried out, without leaving more traditional ones
aside. Themes discussed will include the current state of artistic
education in primary and secondary school, artistic education in art
museums, child and adolescent art in special contexts, such as hospitals
and collectives at risk of social exclusion, games, art and creativity on the
web and proposals for artistic education in the private sector.
As a student of the subject, the head of Educational Programmes at
LABoral, Mónica Bello, will give a lecture on the programmes and
activities carried out by LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial in
this department.
